Hi everyone , my cupra has got a straight through milltek exhaust with a decat down pipe and been mapped to stage 2 by amd and I've just ordered an apr fuel pump, ramair induction kit, stage 2 inter cooler and engine/gearbox mounts ,

Will 380-400 be achievable with a stage 2+ remap, if anyone has had anything similar done

Cheers

More like 360ish hp. Do yourself a favour and take it to a specialist tuner, like R-Tech or go Revo/APR or GIAC

I'll be disappointed if I only get that already 335,

And I bought the car already remapped so it's only £50 a remap for me or I would of went Revo

I didn't think amd were that bad?

335 on whose Dyno? Stop being sold solely on figures, theres a lot more to a decent map than peak numbers. The HPFP primarily opens up midrange performance, will have small effect on peak hp, and the intercooler just keeps things cool so you hold the power for longer, again minimal impact on peak hp on a single dyno run

Do some more research, read build threads, read R-Tech's website which has lots of info on how to tune these engines.

Why spend bucks on a fuel pump, intercooler and then scrimp n save on the software which is crucial to exploiting the full potential of your setup?

Not enough mate, I would question if you're currently running 335 on a standard clutch. I was running 328 and 333ft/lb when I had mine mapped at R-Tech and my clutch started to slip within 3 weeks and my car was at 20,000 miles. Some people have managed longer than others on standard clutches at stage 1, but it's not so much if, but when they start to struggle.

very good advice by dan
ive been Apr/Revo and custom tunes in the past and most stage 2+ are 350-370 bhp on the best flowing mods you can buy
standard clutch is scary even on stage 2 must be low torque based, stage 2+ full fat will kill it lol

Don't mean to highjack the post but what clutch are you running Clazzer? Im thinking of changing my clutch before I go for stage 1, thanks.

Clutch will need changing 100% at stage 2+. Speak to Alex at AKS tuning for a helix upgrade.

Personally, depending on driving style and clutch abuse, I'd replace with standard if sticking with a basic stage 1 map. It's all down to how it's driven

Mines stage 2+ shark map and is on a standard clutch and it's been fine for 5000 miles, if you drive it right it will be ok. Use the gearbox as intended, drop a gear instead of putting your foot down in 6th gear at 50mph and hitting it with all the torque.

Pointless having/going for a HPFP and a stage 2+ map if you dont use the midrange diesel-like grunt, may aswell stick with stage 2

I've got stage 2 on my FL Cupra and running at 350BHP. I don't dive it fast, and when I do it's only on the motorway overtaking, so I never really put the clutch under too much stress. I've never done a standing start or launch, basically my car's never been "abused".

Clutch is fine so far since having it mapped back in mid 2014 I think it was. That's plenty for me, Stage2+ is just a waste as I don't take it track days, I don't drive it hard. It's so bleeding quick I'm at 70 in not time. I'm terrified of getting pinched or flashed so I nver really open her up so to speak.

As it's been mentioned above, the hardware is just that, it's practically "dumb" on it's own without a decent map to take full advantage of the bolt-ons.

You need a diesel...

You even a smaller engined petrol, What's the point in you having the unnecessary cost?

Yeah I have been toying with the idea but I don't do the mileage really. I'd love a silky V6 diesel but meh, I'm going to stick with petrol.

I'm glad I did it, it's fantastic teasing other cars that get right up my arse on the road.
