I like the RS3 but given that it's slower than a Golf R around the track (https://youtu.be/-3jWVTKYcP0) and the 280 is faster than the Golf R around the track (https://youtu.be/4tgdtVhQzJM) it isn't as special as it should be. Looks nice though

Apologies i dont mean to start a which is better than what thread, i just meant the exhaust wise. I am thinking about a S3 Saloon and the first thing I will be doing is getting a RS exhaust put on and the quads off!

i agree with you graham on the exhaust tips its the only thing putting me off getting the milltek is that they dont have rs tips.i believe bcs do rs tips there's a vid of a red cupra with them. i am also waiting to see the photos of the members cupra who is getting a custom exhaust with rs tips.

Sorry mate, my bad.

I do like the oval tips BCS offers though. Here's an image of the polished ovals:

I think they look nice ?

in theory, any exhaust company should be able to make any tips to fit. I think someone needs to ask them the question of whether or not they can swap the trims around, its not like they dont have any lying around...

Sorry not meaning to hijack the thread...but as people are talking about the BCS system already...

I'm booking my Cupra 280 DSG in today to have the BCS catback system fitted in the upcoming few weeks.

What're your guys thoughts on insurance? I like to declare everything but would this be classed as a performance enhancing modification?

I'm currently with Esure...so I'm a bit worried that they're going to ruin the dream! :help:

I fitted a bcs cat back to mine at the back end of last year. My insurance company at the time (axa) refused to insure me as they don't deal with modifications. Ended up going with a performance specialist and had to pay £200 more than I was paying with axa! Wasn't happy but I don't have the worry of my insurance being void if I have to make a big claim. And yes it is classed as a performance enhancing mod.

Thanks for that reply. Were you happy with it? I like the powervalve system, I've opted on the sports level of silencer on Nige's recommendation, with the polished oval tips (want to keep it as stock visually as possible but they're a bit bigger) The 280 stock sound was very underwhelming so this mod is to stop me from changing it becuase I can afford another brand new car

An update about insurance, I heard esure were not that good with mods....when they finally got back to me I added it on and it cost £67 on my premium with an addition £25 for "administration charges" [:@]

The good thing is though they only had option for a non-standard exhaust so IF (or maybe when?) I want the full turbo back system upgrade it'll all be covered :cartman:

Yes really happy with it! Mine is the sport prestige none powervalve. Sounds great, a nice tone but not too loud until higher in the rev band when you want it to be. Bought it 2nd hand from a fellow forum member. The quality and fitment of BCS really are top notch. Mine is a quad but I do like the ovals better. The carbon fibre ones look the nuts.

That's what I like to hear! That's not the first positive feedback about the guys at BCS. To be honest quads or ovals I don't think you can go wrong!

Honestly, for the Leon, i think Milltek looks and sounds better. Some people suggesting that Milltek is poor quality is quite insulting really as it certainly is not, every system i've ever physically encountered has looked and sounded superb with excellent build quality, refinement and logevity. Never heard of BCS/Powervalve but looked up a few videos, for other cars like the TT and it sounds great but the Leons, meh, It's either too "farty" or just a bit overwhelming or underwhelming. I think Milltek has a more refined note. But i suppose opinions...but not regarding quality, as milltek is good quality.
