MOT Emissions Test

In light everything that has gone on recently with emissions testing. My car has passed 3 MOT tests and never been tested for CO2 emissions. 2.0 diesel 170 engine

The first time the garage tried the rev limiter kicked in at 2500rpm and they gave up and passed the car as no emission lights were showing on the car dash. As you can imagine I took it back to the same garage next time

Umm, you do know that diesels are not subjected to a co2 emissions test, don't you? They only test for smoke density on an mot test.

All you need to do on any vehicle with a static rev limiter is turn off the TCS and depress the clutch - this will allow the engine to be revved fully. They still never emit any smoke though, unless the dpf is absent.
