Anyone removed the cigarette lighter from the centre console of an Exeo (59 plate)?

Mine is full of gunk and the connection is crap but the only guides I can find for removal are for the A4-B6 and is to remove the whole centre console, which includes removing the radio.

PS - All the Audi boys seem to have lighter sockets that are permanent power, where mine only seem to work when the ignition is on. Is this standard on the Exeo?

Hi, my 2010 ST has ignition only 12v sockets but my old A4 Avant had ignition only in the cabin but permanent power in the rear ( I think it is done now to prevent battery flattening) .....Julian

A permanent 12v in the boot would be handy - I'd just install my own switch for it. Hopefully there's a permanent 12v somewhere in the rear otherwise it'd be running cables along the sills again.
