I have had a tmc box on my 1.6 tdi for a few years now and it has been flawless. I got mine because there were no remaps available at the time. It is remap money though so depends if there is one out for your model

I have a torque Tronix box on my car and have never had an issue with it. Power delivery is smooth and after nearly two years I've yet to have a problem with it. The running boxes are a lot more advanced now than they used to be; the camshaft position sensor is used in order to accommodate timing and fuelling along with the increase in boost pressure so there's little difference between them and a map. Further more, they can be easily removed and won't flag up and thus invalidate or affect your warranty.

It is essentially plug and play but it just depends on which one you get regarding how many sensors it connects too. Most of the better ones connect to three or so and come with pretty good instructions.

I had a TMC box on mine, think it was the first 1.4 TSI in the country with it.

They are good options as can be taken out etc BUT if Seat really want to they could see the engine had been changed. Not via the flash count on the ECU but drilling further down they'd see more power going to the engine than standard. How likely are they to do this? Not really to be honest, it would be a lot of investigation.

Be mindful that you're talking about modifying your car, not telling insurance and then de-modding it IF you had an accident. This is an open forum and insurance companies are getting wiser to them.

Mine vRS made 211bhp with the TMC box (setting 7), ITG CAI and straight through centre section. I didn't have any complaints with it and it did it's job well.
