gear box has gone

im looking for a gear box for my Ibiza and im very new to this kind of thing can anyone help me.
its a Ibiza fr 2005 1.8t 20v.
would a golf audi skoda 1.8t 5speed boxes fit??

Have you got the gearbox code of your box?

as far as Iv been told the code is
GV2/ or GVZ the persons writing wasn't the best.
the part no is 02r300040
and the engine code is BJX

GVZ is the code and part number is 02R300040N

If the part number starts with 02R it will be a straight swap, just ratios will be different.

so the golf audi skoda audi polo? will fit?
and the Ibiza is on a stage 2 remap 253bhp will the other boxes take the power?
I have found three boxes from golfs and passats this is why I have asked

Passat won't as they are longitudinal. 02R is getting a rare box but not sure on max power though...

If codes match then yes but rarely you'll find the exact one.

Thanks for your help yesterday had no joy with the one I found...
But found a golf gear box 5peed 1.8t mk4 the drive shaft pattern on the gear box is the same or very much similar to mine but will it fit?

well the one on polo is 02r301103 but the drive shafts are different ends

Scary hearing boxes going, what sort of mileage were you guys on? Changed gearbox oil every so often etc?

I was on 75k but more torque tuned and drag racing with slicks
