I do like the original fenix's - I have two sets, one for summer tyre and one for winter tyre. You could always consider holding onto your 17 inches for some winter wheels?

put some winter wheels on yesterday.
not sure how accurate it is, but found this site when looking for wheels http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp allows you to check clearences etc when comparing offset / tyre size to orignal fitment.
16" 7.5j ET45 from an Audi A4 B8 with 225/55/R16 tyres
needed spigot rings, but other than that fit fine, though not a huge clearance on the 312mm brakes.

and on the original Fenix 18 8j with 225/40/R18

That's great JR, good to see some pictures of the Exeo on VAG group alloys for those like me that can't quite picture it in our heads!

They look fine for winter, obviously not as nice as your summer set up but the extra rubber on the sidewalls is ideal for winter potholes, kerbs etc. I bet it rides nicer too!

I too have fitted some winter wheels and tyres, I bought a cheap set of 17" Exeo wheels and had them refurbished in anthracite.

not as nice looking as the 18's, but def nicer ride.
I had been looking at 17's as there seem to be loads more for sale that will fit, but seen these complete with winter tyres for a bargain price of £160, and snapped them up.

They are nice too Mrski1.

I am on the look out for these I think for mine (not my picture and not quite an Exeo..)

Edit: hmm I think I prefer Mrski1's actually!

I had been looking for any 16" - 17" wheels to use, and came across this set on eBay, seem to be a bit cheaper, but more rare, as no one knows what the Exeo is!
