Hi Guys,

I finally reached the annoyance threshold on my rattly passenger door last week and book it in to be looked at.

Its going in on Thursday to Gloucester Seat. The lady on the phone said she had not heard of the issue before which worries me!

Does anyone have any experience of getting this fixed? Any keywords i should be saying or specific things I should point out to them? If you place a hand on the door card, the rattle stops.

I have a horrible feeling it gonna come back just as rattly, or without them finding any fault!

I'm interested too, both my doors do it and it's getting progressively worse.
Based on how long it took me to get the 2nd key sorted by my local dealers I'm not looking forward to it.

Got the EXACT same issue, this isnt a 1-off thing let me assure you. Rattle noise from near side. Door card replaced, A-post trim fix done, still not right. Going in on thursday for what will be the final attempt to fix. If not resolved, SEAT will have no choice but to replace car as only had it a month.

Fun and games

Ok update time, so the car came back stinking of sillicone. The drivers side door is fine, passengers side is rattling like a junky and the dash is a different type of rattle but still enjoying itself. They had apparently solved the above problems but clearly no test drives involved as the clunk in the boot could be heard on the way out the forecourt. Its all evidence anyway, it will return to them and eventually I shall have the evidence to drop it on the forecourt and walk away lol

The door rattle has been dampened to a level that is acceptable. I probably wouldnt have noticed it if it was like this originally.

Where the window meets the dash in the left corner however is still as twangy as ever. Im going to take things into my own hands and find some thin rubber to wedge in the gap and see if that helps

i have taken them off twice to repair the squeaks and groans , they are poorly built plastic welded in different sections , these welds can fail and cause the different parts of the door card to squeak

i have managed to fix them now finally after using silent coat on the inside of the panels and door cards.

only thing that rattles now is the window vent on the passenger side , looks like the ducting rattles on the bottom of the vent trim , so make sure its not your vent rattling i thought it was the door card but tuned out to be that.

put mine in to get a door rattle fixed... they fixed the door rattle but in the process perforated the speaker in the driver side door meaning i can't listen to my music at any decent volume

They're gonna fix it but still shouldnt have happened

Youre not in cumbria are you? Sounds like something my lot would do!

no Ayrshire. I actually thought it was just a loose connection at first. They tried initially to say it wasnt gubbed before I encouraged them to move the balance of the speakers and take the panel off and check it.

Fairly typical scumbag penny pinching stealers. Im getting angrier amd angrier with them!!

first proper dealings with them, bought my car from an arnold shark garage just because it was the best price i'd seen one around for with a good mileage on it.

safe to say i've quickly removed all arnold shark branding from my car :cartman:

VW dealers are no better (probably worse!). So don't despair, poor customer service seems to be the normal these days.

My passenger door rattle seems to be towards the rear of the door, low down. Its there but not too bad. Will prob have a bash at it myself.
