I am looking to fit a Mobius Dashcam into my car with the Power Magic Pro kit to allow recording whilst the car is parked.

Now the issue I have is, which fuses supply power whilst the car is off as I need to connect a wire to a fuse that is always running and one that is off.

Has anyone else fitted a mobius dashcam?

Thanks

I don't think any can be used....why not just run an inline fuse from the battery connections (you will see a spare connector by the battery) to the inside of the car and just have a switch so you can turn it on/off when you want. Far easier that way.

I went to my car last night and found out that the interior lights work whilst the car is off, so that is a start. This fuse should be Fuse 18 7.5A according to some threads on here which I will be confirming later on.

Piggy Back fuse adaptors are made to add a circuit to an existing fuse so Im hoping this will do the job.

Personally I dont want to run it from the battery as the Power Magic Pro from the videos I have seen is made to run from a interior fuse box and as a total novice I rather stick to where it supposed to go

Just check that it wont drain your battery as it will always be on. Assuming you forget to turn it off and go away for the weekend...come Monday morning you wont be getting to work!

Yh got that base covered. The hardwire kits purpose is exactly this. To cut the power from battery when the voltage reaches down to 11.8V leaving me with enough to power the car. Or I can have it set to a timer from 6hrs onwards

Just checked that the permanent live wire of the Hardwire Kit will go into fuse 18 7.5A which is a mini fuse. So wil have to buy a mini piggy back fuse add on and connect that to there. Now just need to figure out which fuse is off for the red wire to go to.

I watched this one earlier today and it was a good help with how to use the fuse adaptors. Now I have also found out today using a multimeter that any one of the 4 top mini fuses can be used as a non live for the red wire or the bottom to normal fuses.

Will be using the mini fuse locations for mine, one being the Fuse 18 and one being another

Your hardwire kit will definately have to go into a switched live fuse and not permanent like mine so preferably one of the top 4 or the bottom 2. The choice is yours mate

Someone posted this in a previous thread

"Fuse 21 is a feed that comes on when engine is running and fuse 37 is a switched feed."

Which would you need for a dashcam, engine running or switched feed?

For ignition feed dashcam ie like the one jc boc has you want to use the 12v cig lighter fuse which is one of the bottom ones, that is a switched feed (works when the car is in ignition till key is pulled out when car is off)

Mobius Camera has now been fitted. Used Slot 16 Mini Fuse Slot which is empty using an add a circuit fuse adaptor for a live feed (always on).

Then used th cig lighter fuse location and added a fuse adaptor there for the ignition feed.

Wired it up using the Power Magic Pro kit to stop battery drain and allow parking mode recording.

Got the hang of it now and its an easy 1hr job at most. Prob change location of my camera to the rearview mirror at a later date though. All in £75-80 is not bad for a decent small camera

Sounds good mate. I had a friend of mine hard wire mine in yesterday while I was at work. He does it for a living so took him literally 30mins lol. Looks so much better now without bloody cables hanging all over the place. Did a 30 min track day at Rockingham on Sunday so it is the first time I have actually reviewed footage from the NEXTBASE cam I have and I must admit, I am well pleased with the picture quality of it.
