I fitted my full 3" cobra downpipe and decat system.
I did it on a 2 post ramp and believe me, it isn't easy. I'm a fully qualified Ford Tech.
It is advisable to drop the subframe, but once the downpipe is loose, it can be wiggled free without dropping the subframe.
There are 3 bolts on the downpipe and you can only get on them from the bottom. I ended up cutting a spanner down to get on the top nut.
It is not an easy job and will test your patience.
Make sure you have a decent tool kit available.

Don't forget to disconnect your lambda sensors when pulling it off too.
You should be ok mate, it's just a ******* to do lol.
The end result is worth it.

Might sound a daft question but here goes anyway; does the downpipe need to be fitted to a sports cat or decat? I can't afford the sports cat and don't want the noise of a decat, but want the benefits of a DP and a catback!

Well im hoping that the pipewerx dp n decat will fit onto standard cat back system as I cnt
Afford the cat back system at the mo. If it doesnt then itll have to wait for month or too? Anyone put the
Pipewerx dp and decat onto a standard cat back system. Jeff from pipewerx said that it will fit hes either telling thevtruth or trying his best to make £350..

I've got one and it mates upto a standard cat-back fine as it shrinks to 2.75" just before the flange.

Pipewerx to cobra

Hi

Really sorry to bump and old thread. :ban:

I've got a pipewerx decat and downpipe and like mentioned above, the decat tapers down to 2.76". Does the flange size vary?

So i'm asking will a 3" cobra cat back system fit straight onto this decat, even though it tapers.. obviously if the flange sizes are the same it will be fine?

Thanks

If they use the same jig on the 3" version as they do the 2.5" which is designed to mate up with standard downpipe I don't see why it shouldn't fit.

I can't answer the question definitively but if the cobra cat back will fit onto the standard downpipe and cat then it should be fine.

Reason I say is that my milltek cat back fitted onto the standard downpipe and then my pipewerx downpipe and decat fitted on to the milltek catback which would mean the pipewerx would fit a standard catback.

Dunno if that makes senses, it does in my mind at least.

Yeah makes sense, the 3" COBRA system only comes as a turbo back system, they do a cat back but that is 2.5".

So going by that, I'm assuming the 2.5" will fit a standard cat whereas the 3" only fits with the whole turbo back system. Might've just answered my own question. Lol

I've got the Milltek GT 80 cat back, and I have a new standard down pipe and cat on my car both fit together

Yeah seen this asked a few times as you can't buy the 3" one as a catback it's full turbo back only, but as I said if they've used the same jig to make both then they should be exactly the same length and shape but with obviously thicker diameter.
