I've been looking into fitting some h7r HIDs actually and it's ridiculous how many are on the market.
Where did you buy yours from?

Thanks a lot guys for the kind comments.

They are off of eBay and from a company called honest hid people.

Not used them yet on the road so time shall tell how much difference they make. Looking forward to trying them though.

The car is comming along nicely, great work and attention to detail.

Great solution for the silencer btw

Your engine by is really tidy and in great contrast with the red hoses.

I was wondering about the HIDs you guys in UK are installing. Is there no problem with the MOT or the police?
In Slovenia you have to have automatic beam adjustment and headlamp washing system installed, otherwise it can be extreemly costly if the police pulls you over and take a closer look.

To be honest it's the first set of hids I have ever used. Technically yes they should have auto level, projector lenses and washers if they are xenon but if the beam pattern is ok and it passes an MOT then there seems to be no issues. I have had no issues with people flashing me if I am dazzling them yet.

This is part of my service that I will be doing in a weeks time.

5a41cb085abc6c48d88c9f7ebc09d8bf.jpg

Powerflex polybush black series for wishbone front and rear, dog bone front and rear, steering rack, new lower ball joints and new bolts for the lot when fitted. Been tidying and cleaning them all up in preparation.

Masked up the wishbone bushes tonight after degreasing and wire brushing the wishbones clean.

And gave them a few coats of black hamerite to tidy them up.

Will paint the other side in the week.

Looking forward to getting all of this on.

Painted the other sides of the wishbones now.

Then cleaned the dog bone mount up as best I could and fitted the small end and big end bushes and torqued it up all ready to fit.

Pretty much ready for the service Monday now which will consist of:

Oil, filter and pollen filter, drop the sump and change the pickup pipe.

Then fit wishbones and dog bone all with new black series polybushes, ball joints and bolts all round and a black series power steering rack bush.

Then dropped the sump..

Oil totally clean and the magnetic sump plug didn't have a single bit of swarf on it. One tiny piece of metal in the pickup pipe but unsure where it's from .

New pickup and O ring bolted on...

And a shot of the bottom end...

Didn't photo everything but that's the bulk of the work. Greased the front pads as they were squeaking a bit when coming to a stop.

Now I just need to test drive it, let the bushes settle and get hunter wheel alignment done.

Job done for now

Thanks mate. That was the worst out of the two to be fair but the front ones were just as bad and a lot of play from the smaller dog bone too.

I'm looking forward to feeing the difference.

The rear beam bushes look knackered too but i think that's a axle off job to get it done properly. Big job

Good stuff man! Difference with fresh bushes all round is night and day, bet it feels way better with that lot bolted up.

Do you still have the old wishbones? A friend of mine is currently sticking LCR running gear on his Mk4 and they're the last part he needs - if the price is good I'll point him your way.

Thanks. Seems a lot tighter but only had a quick drive in the rain and had kids on board so couldn't test properly.

Unfortunately they are already en route somewhere else sorry.
