Sat Nav High fault... 1 day old Cupra

So after many months of not having a working Sat Nav on my car it was fixed on the 28th of Jan. I got it on the 13th of November.

West London Seat were an absolute joke and were no help at all. I took the car to them 3 times and on the last ocassion they had the car for a week and achieved nothing and so after many complaints to Seat UK I eventually had the car delivered back to me. I ended up getting incredibly angry with them and said that I did not want them to touch the car any more. Seat UK then put me in touch with my next local dealer (Watford). I actually live a mile a way from West London Seat, but since this debacle they are no longer authorised dealers!

The service I had from Watford was AMAZING! Chris from their service department organised for the car to be picked up from my office in Chelsea at 9.30 on the 28th of January, they dropped me a loan Ibiza, drove my car back to Watford, swapped out the control unit in the glovebox (I always knew it was this that was faulty, as Sat Nav High does not have SD cards) and then delivered the car back to me, fully functional by 5pm that day.

Seat UK then called to confirm I was happy and then sent me a letter giving me 2 years free servicing for the inconvenience.

Small world, I'm just down the road from West London SEAT too. The dealer I bought from (in another part of the country) tried to arrange for them to look at my sat nav but they stated that they don't do warranty work anymore as they stopped selling new SEATs as of 6th Jan. Watford was going to be my next port of call so it's good to know that if the problem comes back they should be able to deal with it.

The smaller world is, that I also didn't buy mine from West London either. It came from Eastbourne and they were very helpful but it was just too far to take it back to them. I am in Brentford and have never seen another Cupra on the road anywhere in London apart from one SC in Shepherds Bush. In fact that is the only Cupra I have ever seen on the road. I will look out for you from now on! Annoyed that you got a 290 and I got a 280.

I'm in Brentford too and likewise only ever seen one other Cupra, a black 5dr on the A4 nearby a couple of months ago. I'll keep an eye out for yours as well!

Yeah, was never impressed with West London Seat (lived a long time over that way), went down to West Moseley when needed work doing. I'm now over Herts way so Watford isn't too far but I have a St Albans authorised service place closer (used Hatfield with very bad experiences!)

It is amazing that West London and Hampton Court have now closed down so the nearest options for Londoners is Croydon or Watford. Seems mad... If I had the money I would look in to opening a franchise and doing it properly! Car dealers are mostly a joke these days, whatever the brand!

If you need work doing from a good independent specialist, I always thought Russel Automotive know what they are doing.

Does seem a bit crazy though that there isn't a SEAT authorised service/repairer in the W London area. Has the West Mosely one gone too?
