Door module help!!

I've just changed the door module in my other halfs Mk1 due to the original not locking the passenger door,

I've plugged the module into the loom and temp fitted the metal doorcard in place with a couple of the bolts. It doesn't seem to do anything at all, and I've noticed the interior light doesn't come on either when the door is opened. So it seems completely dead.

To save time fitting the door handle (on the little wire pull cord) I presume the module should unlock and lock with just the loom connector fitted (out of the door?)

Can anyone help me?

I bought the unit off ebay (polish company) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271447031173?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

If its simply a duff unit then I will have to go to GFS car parts in the morning, (theyre just much more expensive)

I went with that ebay one as it was the only one that came up with a matching part number to mine, 3b2837015L

I'm 95% sure you need the window motors plugged in, from memory i don't think the lock modules will work otherwise.

Window motor is the door control module and powers the door lock this needs to be fitted and plugged in for lock to work

Theres one to remember for next time.
