Hi There,

This question has probably been asked many times.

I have a 2005 Altea Sport - and loving it so far, except for a few minor issues that the garage has just sorted out.

My Altea has come with the MFD screen and appears to have lots of features. For extra info it has black buttons, so I think it's the CD version.

Couple questions.

1. How do I update the firmware? (where do I get the file)
2. How do I update the maps?
3. It has Aux and phone buttons, but neither seem to do anything?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks

:D

Firmware could be updated by vcds I think or done at dealerships.

Does the head unit have MP3 on it as that's what will be needed to use aux if it was factory fitted you will either have the aux socket near the handbrake or it could have an iPod dock under the drivers seat behind the little door.

Regards phone controls that would suggest it has built in Bluetooth try searching for devices on your phone it will come up as something like seat_uhv then connect to it and at a guess the code will be 1234

Hope this helps buddy

HI There,

Thanks for your reply.

I have seen from alot of US forums that you can burn a firmware to a disc and run it, but i havent yet seen a UK forum to back this up - im not sure whether the file is region specific. So not sure, and not sure i want to pay a dealer to upgrade it.

It doesnt appear to have a MP3 option and looked for the iPod dock - nothing. On the Aux screen there is an option for a Aux Audio and AV In? but no connections?

Phone controls - When i select 'Tele' i get a screen that says "No active call" - No Bluetooth devices appear on my phone :S

Thanks

When you have 15 posts you'll be able to upload pics and links so then you could put a pic up of your head unit and can see what you've got.

Like I say as its go the phone control on the wheel it should have a Bluetooth module unless the steering wheel isn't the original.

I think the wheel is original as its all working and matches interior. The manual hints to either to Bluetooth or an old school brick phone dock - but see neither?

I will try and get up to 15 posts to post photos.

It probably is the original mate so I'm sorry I said that really as I don't want to get you thinking has the car been messed with.

Are you on any of the Facebook groups as you could put some pics on there and I could have a look that way.

No, haven't looked into the Facebook groups yet? Is there a couple main ones I could join?

Just an update to this. Was fiddling around with my seat on my way home from work earlier and noticed a cover where I expected there to be a gap between seat and floor. Just had a look pulled seat back and found a box with a Bluetooth logo on it. So would assume this is Bluetooth? But can't work out why it's not working?

If the bluetooth is working, when you first turn the car on search for it on your phone. As above the code is preset at 1234 to pair. It only stays discoverable to new devices for a couple of minutes after powering up each time.
