As above

To be honest after being given a few paint chip/booklet things and looking through the silly amount of colours and finishes available - I told them the sort of colour I wanted and they suggested this

Mega happy with the paint, but less than impressed that they've used an impact gun to put the wheels back on and the bolts are done up stupidly tight. Will be going back down there after work to get them to undo the bolts so I can do them up properly

*edit* all is forgiven

they weren't all stupidly tight, just a couple. Very apologetic and gave me a free touch-up pot of the paint so I can touch up any marks that occur, stonechips etc. All torqued up as they should be so job done.

Plastidipped the blue washer bottle cap in black...

Followed the instructions to the letter and guess what, it peeled. This stuff is utter shite.

Ive used plastidipp on my S badge to spray it white before and it held up for 5 months... It's was discoloured but didn't peel, held up against snow foam and pressure wash all winter, thought it was alright really, maybe the heat?

I've had mixed results with it, the stuff on the front bumper has held up fine.

I didn't even get chance to get the washer cap back onto the car, it peeled as it dried :cartman:

I've done my front grill with it, redid it after about 20k because of stone chips. Otherwise never had an issue.

Sounds more like contamination to me, did you give it a good clean with a solvent cleaner first?

I did my boot badge the other day in white, hated it and peeled it off 10 minutes later.

I would hate the boot badge as well, changed to a red S now anyway lol and some new twin exit ovals to match the badge lol

In other news, I gave my freshly painted wheels a coat of wax and tinted my rear lights. theres a few tiny bubbles which i think are water and should dry out in coming weeks, much the same way it does when you have your windows tinted

Never used to be that much I don't think, I got washer fluid and coolant a few years back and don't remember that.

Installed my Revo induction kid to my Leon Cupra, first of many mods I hope :D love the sound already and seems to pick up the power a lot quicker but only had it out on a quick run.

I use Autoglym engine and machine cleaner and a small brush to loosen everything, then wipe with a microfibre. The brush helps get where your hands can't

Thanks mate, sorry for the late response not been on for a little bit! Much appreciated though will give this a whirl myself when I've sorted other things out first! :D

As for the thread, I've been having trouble with starting up the car lately, not narrowed down what it is yet and bought a new battery last night and fitted before work, all seems well for now but will see if my problem comes back, if it does then I'm a lost cause haha! :D

Has anyone got a link to the bonnet lifters we all bought a while back when fitting them with the £5 plates? My bonnet lifter is now dreadful and doesn't lift a thing

Were they from an Audi A3?

Mines off an Audi A3 8L. Is perfect for the job.

Cheers, will have a look on eBay later.

Mine did do the job, for a while, now it takes me 10 seconds to open the bonnet as I have to wait/pull it up as the strut is buggered
