Hi. New to the forum so hello and thank you in advance. I've owned my mk2 Leon Cupra for a good few years now and done little mileage on the car. I purchased in 2011 from ***** in bury which is no longer a seat dealership unfortunately, with just short of 17k on the clock. I have just about covered 40k now and over the past probably 12 months or so have noticed the car to feel a little 'off the ball' periodically for no apparent reason. The car is standard and I use super unleaded - mostly texaco, no supermarket stuff and it usually feels fine. Lately it just doesn't seem to feel the same and theres nothing obviously amiss as I can tell. It is well serviced and driven steadily mostly, but I can usually tell it feels 'lively' without trying.
If anyone could shed any light on this Id be very grateful.

Thanks
Stuart

You might as well be using supermarket fuel as opposed to Texaco. Bloody shite in my experience.

Try using Tesco 99 or Shell V power for a while and see how you get on. Thats what i would do anyway

Thanks for the reply. I have used the shell fuel a few times over the years but not lately. I never found the car to be too happy with it though. Once i'd gone back to the texaco stuff it always felt better. Not at the moment though... I did run some fuel cleaner - Redex through it a few weeks back but it doesn't seem to have helped at all. I will try the shell fuel again and see if it's performance improves. I did wonder about the fuel filter but I'm assuming this would have been changed during servicing.
Thanks
Stuart

As above I'd pull the coil packs off and have a check in there also give the maf a clean and some good fuel cleaner with some good fuel. if you have a scan tool I'd also have a look at the 02 sensors to see what they where reading.

An update from today's visit to RE Performance in Bury. I explained my issue with the cars apparent laziness and what I'd been advised to check. They had the car for around 2.5 hours and found an ecu log regarding a motorised flap in the manifold area, which opens and closes as required which had been sticking. The car was run on the dyno and power was fine I was told. They cleared the logs and did a second run which did not give any further errors. He advised to see how it goes now the logs are cleared and come back if it's no better. I was told it should be more like itself again now but may error in time. The part price alone is £190 approx, plus around £150 labour. The car did feel better coming home and air temp was not exactly cool so is quite promising. Thanks.
