Hissing sound when driving

Hissing when? Is it not just turbo induction noise? Check for boost leaks I would. Regarding the error code, it means your n80 purge regulator valve has probably gone, or there is a leak around it. Check the evap pipes around the valve for any cracks or leaks.

Do you think it could be that picture below, I can only presume it goes into the side of the air box..... basically before I owned it cut that and stuck a bit of women's tights over the end,so i put a mini air filter on it. Do you think that could be it

Na that would be fine, I've done the same on mine. That's not part of the evap system that your error code is referring to. I had that error code and fixed it by fitting a new N80, although i didn't get any unusual hissing noises...

What engine?
Check all pipes to and from the Combi valve, make sure all are secure and nothing loose. It's on the far right, towards the back of the engine block, you'll have to remove the airbox to get to it properly.
I had this code after doing N249 bypass (no hissing but needed to 'T' in a SAI hose), then my SAI pump went so removed the entire system, blanked off the combi valve and resistored where the pump was. No more error codes for me
