Is the PD 130 Engine a good motor?

golf is heavier. what'd be the point? The ibiza is more likely to catch people out imo, nobody expects it to be as quick a car as it is.



Agreed :D i have an 08 FR, suprised a few quick cars, i mean its no supercar killer, but it certianly gets some looks :D love the car!

I've been of the opinion that the 1.9TDI motor is one of the best engines ever produced by any manufacturer for some time, having run cars with various versions of it. The PD130 in our FR seems bomb proof. We've been running a generic map from Revo on it since 2008 and we're still on the original clutch. I "enjoy" the power and pace on my 500mile per week commute and am averaging a real 59mpg.

I'm sure there are duds, but with proper servicing and whatnot, our 11 years with the car have proved to be reasonably hassle free. I emptied the 4ltr oil i bought when we got the car a couple of months ago, so oil use is minimal.
