Would only use genuine or better but I suppose it depends on the use the car will get.

Brembos can be had for £200 odd from sere motors if that's any help.

I'd stick with the original brembos then tbh. Mine have seen two trackdays at castle combe and two visits to the nurburgring so probably about 20 laps and look fine so far. That's with ds2500s last year and carbotech xp12s this year.

My Seat is all original and staying that way, road use only, and no way would I ever cut corners on anything to do with the braking system or tyres. It really doesn't matter if a car won't go, it's deadly if it doesn't stop.

As others have said Original equipment or better.

Regarding aftermarket go for things like the M-TEC ones on ebay that are drilled or grooved, these are just budget discs they have machined they are far from a high quality disc. If you fancy aftermarket go for branded like EBC or Tarox etc.

I went for EBC dimpled and Grooved with their redstuff pads and have been very happy with them, I went for it mainly as I liked the looks of them. I dont think the discs are any better in performing than the original Brembo's but they were similarly priced, but the redstuff pads were defo much better than whatever weetabix material type pads the previous owner had in there..

My FR TDI came with a new set of EBC Red stuff front pads when I bought it and can't wait to change them, they're absolutely shite.
Greenstuff were just as crap on an old mk2 16v Golf as well.
Mintex M1144 is what I'll be getting next.

Worth noting that basic 'budget ' Pagid pads from ECP are useless these days and if you want Pagid them source the higher spec ones that actually work.
I found them very disappointing on my mk4 Golf Sport estate.
