(Cupra PD150) Yo Peep's, thinking of grabbing some of this as I'm getting engine juddering in 5th and 6th under acceleration! Also just done a Mr muscle turbo clean, picks up twice a fast under boost but still the juddering... Injectors maybe??? Cheers Peep's.

Juddering sub 2k rpm under load will probably be your DMF, not symptomatic of injectors.

If you want to clean your injectors anyway, I would suggest buying a small sonic cleaner and removing them and giving them a good scrub the a blast in the sonic cleaner.

Works a treat!

Cheers Drew, was planning to just add cleaner in fuel as I've heard removing them is a bitch? You done it pal?

Not on a Leon but have on others.

It's a matter of de-pressuring the fuel system and removing the rail, the injectors will just pop out.

It isn't a hard job, just needs to be done carefully so as not to loose anything, it may need the manifold removing too.. but I'm not sure on that.

Been running on Millers since Day 1 with the Leon and the Skoda has had it from Day 1 too. Would seriously recommend the product especially from running it from new. However the old Honda has just been replaced by a diesel Avensis with a few miles on the clock (130k) but I have known the car from new. It has been driven by an elderly chap plus it has had probably countless tankfuls of Tesco diesel.

On this basis I have just bought some of this stuff after many singing its praises on the forums and hope it cleans the system out and start from afresh with good old Millers.

BG244 isn't cheap but looking at Amazon reviews as well as the forums its got to be worth a shot every so often.

I don't think the Avensis is running as good as it should at the moment and am hoping that this stuff running through it and a heavier right foot that its previous owner (a la Montgomery Burns) will help.

Will keep post up the results if any one is interested.

I get mine in bulk (a lot cheaper) from Opie.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/pv-68896-millers-oils-diesel-power-ecomax-fuel-treatment-5-litres.aspx

Fortunately a site sponsor too.

Been running on it for years (used to be called diesel power sport 4) a number of years ago.

Uprated cetane rating, runs smoother plus loads of other goodies no doubt thrown in there too.

I found the stuff in short gives a bit more power (marginal), plus 2 or 3mpg (straight off when I first started using it) and slightly quieter/smoother running. Purely a personal opinion but in twelve or so years of the stuff running through the Leon, it never has had any EGR issues. Obviously not controlled laboratory conditions!

On a simple maths calculation based on an additional 2.5mpg, that 5 litre container gains another 2750 miles. On a very regular average of 45mpg (not great because work isn't far and its very stop start traffic - EGR???) I reckon it saves over £300 based on £1.15 per litre so in my opinion very cost effective in 5 litre form. At about £70 with forum discount code, probably £250 net saving on fuel efficiency alone.

Realistically though I just look at the stuff as raising standard fuel to BP Ultimate/V power etc. Running on that stuff too has positive effects on mpg and running in general from those I know that use that stuff instead of just adding an additive.

No doubt each one could argue that their's is the best product on the market be it straight from the pump or via an additive.

I thought my intermittent non starting problem may have been injectors so I looked into it and the injectors on the tdi 150 are not like normal injectors, instead of having a high pressure diesel pump the pressure system is built into the injector, they cost over £500 EACH! and you have to remove the cam cover to access them.

I tried wynns injector cleaner and then running shell v power nitro + diesel with a millers ecomax and I noticed the difference on the second tank of fuel. The engine starts as it should and the car feels more responsive. I had been using supermarket fuel for years but it seems the quality has got worse this year.

Personally I won't touch supermarket stuff with a barge pole - especially diesel. That said many people rave about Tesco 99RON petrol.

Up until very recently brother in law ran a Renault Laguna coupe diesel (one of that last Laguna's) Always used Tesco's diesel and then it started playing up EML's and all sorts. AA was called in and 'have you been using supermarket fuel?' - 'yes' - 'then stop using it'. He did. It stopped having wobblies and problem sorted.

Obviously these problems won't happen to everyone as mother uses Tesco's diesel day in day out (much to my disgust) and she's not had any issues.

Each to their own.

Yeah the price is frightening. They are Piezo injectors and pretty much all modern diesels will use them from now on. The pressure generated is INSANE too. The one's i looked at on a land rover were 3000Bar or 43,500psi!! You certainly wouldn't want to put your hand in front of that, it'd slice it straight off lol
