Good choice to go uprated clutch it will be what I do when the time comes. Will stick with a new OEM flywheel also.

Done a fair bit of research on this and a good majority that pick that setup are more than happy.

Plus if I chose singal mass conversion I'd be gutted if it annoyed me by being to loud and lots of vibration.

Yeah I've been reading lots on it. Seems the best bet. I wouldn't go smf for the noise and the fact it's really now the Mrs daily. She wouldn't put up with that! Haha

Clutch went in today. Very pleased. Just need to bed it in

In the end I went for oem dmf and clutch assembly. Should get me through to the summer at least when I can start pricing up a full Sachs kit

Yeah should be fine buddy, I'm on standard clutch. When I had mine mapped I was told "as long as I drive and used the gearbox I'll be fine and it will last 20k" in other words don't be nailing it at 40mph in 6th,knock it down a gear or two if you want to make it move. Which I thought was the obvious thing to do as I was told that a safe overtake is a fast overtake, which in my eyes means drop it and floor it! Ha ha

So the car made it to the green hell and back in 1 piece

Very happy with the car with one glaring exception. As my clutch was replaced the battery was removed for over 2 hours. This caused all my revo settings to go to zero. So effectively I went to the ring with stage 2 software albeit very flat and very restricted!

Back to TC Garage on the 19th to have the settings restored and now I have the new clutch I can use the full stage 2 power! I'm heading back to the ring over the summer so hopefully my time will improve a lot more

New filter ordered for the Neuspeed. Twinned with the new clutch and I should finally be able to enjoy the full excitement of the stage 2 map!

Heading down tomorrow to get the settings re tweaked

Settings tweaked. New filter is on. Also fitted short shift kit which has made the gearbox a pleasure to use!

Massive difference. Can't wait to get it back on track and see how it helps. Next to go on, is the gearbox mount, subframe spacers and new bolts. Then I've got a bigger discharge and throttle body pipe coming which should aid in flow when I pair them with the S3 cooler which is in planning

Lots to come. Stay tuned

A small update to add

Had the middle box removed and a straight pipe welded in its place. It's now straight from the turbo to the rear box. Car now sounds like a tractor on cold start. But less so when warm. Much more raspy and the occasional pop and crackle on the overrun makes it the best £60 I've spent in a while haha

Car is undergoing preparation work now for its annual pilgrimage to the Nurburgring. List of parts/jobs to be done:

New discs all round
Yellowstuff pads all round
THS solid gearbox mount to press into the subframe
Subframe spacers with stronger Audi bolts
Superpro anti lift kit
Uprated charge pipes
LOBA HPFP
New cone filter for induction kit
Fuel filter
Oil & Filter
Magnetic sump plug
R8 CoilPacks
NGK Iridium BKR7EIX Plugs
Cabin/Pollen filter
Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 3 tyres all round

Once back from the ring I shall then be in a good position to buy a new intercooler and move to Revo stage 2+ Hopefully installing SPS Pro at the same time

I also need to replace the cam chain and it's tensioner as I believe this is what's causing the horrible metallic noise on cold starts. One less thing to worry about in the future.

So. Back from the ring again. Car is in one piece again

My comments for the parts above:

Yellowstuff pads - not bad. Better than oem but still have fade after prolonged use
Eagle F1 Assy 3 - squealed the whole way there and back. Really disappointed with them. I have since been informed the sidewalls on these have been designed as uber strong and the compound is very hard. So they take a lot to bring to temperature, but they don't grip half as good as the assy 2's did. They did not like the corners at the ring one little bit. Wet performance is on par with the assy 2's in my opinion. These are a road tyre so I guess I was expecting a little much from them. But after using the assy 2's for the last 5 years I assumed Goodyear would have made magic again with these. I won't be using these again
Superpro anti lift kit - night and day difference with turn in! My cornering was a lot better this year and I had a lot more confidence taking a little extra speed with me. Unfortunately the tyres had the opposite idea and as a result I didn't really get to fully exploit its working abilities

Hi just out of interest did you go to the Nurburgring on the 6th 7th 8th of May? I know it's random I've got an inferi black mk2 Cupra and saw an inferi black k1 with English plates! I was behind you in the que when there was a track closure (if it was you)!! I was doing a 3 point turn in the road when an inferi K1 came past me with turbo chatter! Amazing place

Been a busy chap lately. So only had small amounts of time to get things done

Fitted an Intercooler from a mk6 Golf R. This is basically the S3 cooler but with plastic moulded end tanks. I have been reliably informed this actually flows a little better than the alloy end tanks. Not a thread for debate. Just what I've been told. Regardless, it could be felt doing its job immediately. Much stronger pull in the midrange. Was actually quite easy to fit. Using instructions from APR and THS I managed to get the whole swap done in around 60-90 minutes total time. The only issues I had were that most instructions are based on the mk5 golf. The Leon has a few differences with where some clips and sensors are etc

PCV delete, charcoal canister hoses swapped for silicone and DV return hose swapped for stronger boost hose. Removed the oem revision R PCV valve and installed the Forge delete plate instead

Swapped the Neuspeed P-Flo for the Revo kit. Felt it was time to upgrade the intake And I've heard nothing but good things from the Revo intake kit. Noticeably louder than the p-flo and again noticeable gains in torque in the midrange but also the pull stays for a little bit longer at the top of the Rev range

I'm also having a custom 3" catback exhaust commissioned to link with my 3" decat downpipe. Having a small silencer in the middle should ensure the sound is not raspy like a shitty type r civic. But also not too droney for long journeys. Plenty of crackles and pops shall keep smiles per gallon going for some time to come :D

Going to look at having the inlet off to fit my RFD kit and RS4 valve. Also want the valves decoked. Any recommendations?
