My 1.4 16V doesn't need reving to move at 1mph.

I'm guessing that as your 1.4 16v is 85PS and the previous poster was referring to the 1.4 16v 75PS, that the 10PS at these power levels really did make a difference.

On the other hand, if you had had a 1.4 8v which I think was 60+PS then that car was a lot more flexible at lower engine revs, so it too would have been quite happy at low speeds.

Actually the BBY 1.4 16V 75PS engine in the older and heavier chassis of Polo/Ibiza was not very good to drive at all, having 1.4 16V 85PS in the lighter chassis Polo/Ibiza makes a serious difference in the driving experience.

Edit:- sorry, if I had re-read this thread from the beginning I would have seen that loonymoon had said all that some time ago!!

Just wondering how the 1.2 TSI copes with high miles. mIne is the 105bhp one (not sure if that will make a difference??) and is now on 62000 miles.

What's yours done?

Hi Mate mine has now done 77000 so at 15k more than yours and seems ok have now been having oil changes every 10k and using 10-40 grade rather than 5-30 it sound better on cold starts same engine as yours 105ps tfsi
