Want a louder exhaust system, any recommendations?

Got a 3" turbo back decat milltek exhaust system but it's so quiet.

Looking for something that's nice and loud on idle too. Can barely hear the milltek. Miss my old m3 evo and the sound from it. Want that on my LCR!

Also don't think it has a silencer. I bought the car with it tho, so could be wrong.

Quite surprised any 3" turbo back decat would be "quiet" tbh, I have a cobra on mine can be quite sedate driven off boost but mental on it. Would recommend

The Miltek systems are quieter than the Cobra ones, if you want it louder then either de-cat the system or pick up and downpipe and sport CAT.

That will give you a better sound.

My Cobra CAT back system pops and bangs nicely when it's warmed up and sounds great on overrun.

well, here are my thoughts..

car in question 1.8 t

We just removed the back box (rear silencer) and had a straight pipe. Now not the most beautiful solution, but the sound was good, not too intrusive, and best of all no drone.. Seemed like the Turbo "absorbed" all the sound.. So it is a cheap fix, and reduced weight, and I am sure that the car will pass the MOT, since it does not sound excessively loud..

Just remove the rear and mid section and put some scaffolding tube in its place.

It's probably me but when I hear some cars with really loud exhausts I laugh as it's usually young folk in 1.0, 1.2,3,4 ect ie all noise and no speed, I know you guys are different as you have the power to back it up. Personally I prefer something loud on the likes of a v6 or 8, like the guy up the rd from me that had a camaro with straight throughs...now THAT was something you felt the ground vibrate when he went by.

Like some said take the backbox off or get something made up for a meatier/louder noise, I like the sound of the boxer lump with a loud pipe, very distinctive
