Hi all,

My car is a Leon FR ST 184 diesel, just coming up to 5 months old with 3800 miles (I've had it from new).

No issues whatsoever until this morning. I started it, and immediately got the loud ding and the low coolant warning message. I stopped it straight away and investigated, and the bottle where the coolant goes was indeed almost empty (a small amount of water was at the bottom).

It's clearly lost a lot of water - it took nearly 1 litre to top up to the fill line, but I can't see any evidence of a leak. There's no water under the car.

Anyone else had this happen? I am wondering if it's normal, or if I should be worried!

I last checked the coolant level about a month ago, and it was fine.

Cheers,

Graham

There was reports of this engine having air locks then the coolant dropping.

I'd refill and keep an eye on it over the next few days and if it disappears quickly again then get to Seat to get it checked.

Had the same, topped it up and not had an issue since. Almost certainly an airlock in the system somewhere that works its way out.

Top it up and keep an eye on it but probably won't happen again!

I had a small drop after about 6 weeks. I took it to the dealer and they topped it up and pressure tested for leaks.

I would do that as its within warranty if I were you.

And as said, seems common for air to be present from build and it works its way to the top of the system.

I had this same problem but spotted it was low before the warning. Topped it up and it's been fine since, touch wood!
