Sorry for the slow reply chaps.

She's going really well I'm loving the whole package and I'm finally happy with how it sounds :D

I'm not entirely sure what Niki did when I went back for the tweak but she feels epic. One thing I do know is he has altered the throttle map but other than that I couldn't tell you.

Here are the two graphs side by side.

One thing to note though on the day of the tweak it was warmer compared to the original 2+ mapping session.

How much if at all that's going to affect things I can't really say.

Cheers Andy ;)

Yes we need to have a meet up buddy before Christmas plus you can take me for a spin in the new motor.

@ scby555

The torque you have seen was at stage 1 :)

I've actually lost a touch but only 1ftlb so I'm pleased with that as lots of people were saying I'll go under 400ftlb with a 3.5" de cat.

Cheers

Peak numbers don't tell the whole story. Gains across the rest of the RPM range make up for a few lbft less at a particular engine speed

As mentioned the reasons behind going decat is to enable gains across the whole rev range and not just peak power.

If you compare the two graphs you can see the difference. Also it's achieving this with less effort than before mainly by the reduced duty cycle so that's a great result.

As Kev said its all about the efficiency of flow and a 200cell is a restriction regardless of it being a high flow cat.

Added bonus is it's ideal if i were to go hybrid turbo in the future, and it sounds bloody mental on WOT/overrun

Craig, what do you mean IF I were to go hybrid turbo, surely it is just a matter of time.:D:D

Haha yes a big ass turbo would be epic but if I take that route she will have to go 4WD no questions.

I'm still undecided if I should strip the rear and fit a roll cage and basically make her a track car or the other option would be big turbo and 4WD and keep the rest as is on the inside.

Decisions decisions lol

Craig after your valve clean and new injectors were you still getting misfires on idle?
I've looked a couple of pages back and seen you had a pic with oe pcv back on, did this stop the misfire at idle?
Or was there another reason you changed to oe?

Hi Kev,

After the clean and injectors the misfires reduced dramatically but still get a random misfire now and then, but having spoken to Niki about it he said this is due to having rfd and is nothing to worry about.

Regards pcv I reverted back as was getting random puffs of smoke if I stopped after kicking its head in then pulled off after say a minute of idle.

Since going back I've only had it happen twice.

Before going back to standard pcv I went down to Niki and he did a compression/leak down test, smoke test etc etc and all is bang on.

So it's a odd one he did say it's possibly the valve seals letting a small amount of oil past now and then.

Another possible one I've thought is if the evap part of the rocker cover has a small crack. But as it's not doing it now I will carry on regardless.

Ok cheers, just I'm getting a few misfires every now and then on idle and more so when the engine is cold. Glad it's nothing to worry about.
I haven't had any smoke puffs that I've notice so I'll just keep the pcv delete on.
Out of interest was the compression/leak test, for boost leaks? Did Nikki pressurise the full intake system?

A compression test shows the condition of the valves, valve seats, and piston rings and whether these parts are wearing evenly. If good they should have compression over 100 psi per cylinder and no more than 10 percent variation between the highest and lowest readings.

He also used an endoscope in all four cylinders/inlet and turbo and again all was spot on mate

Morning all,

Ok so first off I apologise for my lack of input in my build thread,I'm not going to go into detail but all I will say it has nothing to do with Snow White she is going strong and hasn't been put through a hedge or anything like that :p

I'll start with the little bits first, as you know I keep on top of general service/maintenance of the Cupra.

This is a recent follower change that has done just over 2.5k at 2+ getting its head kicked in in a regular basis.

Old on the left:

As you can see the old one is practically brand new with no wear so very happy with that.Done it's regular 2k oil change and to help I purchased an oil filter drain. This is great as it stops me getting covered every time I remove the filter housing

Also put a new pollen filter in whilst I was at it as it's not been done for a while

Ok that's the boring stuff done with so on to more interesting bits.

Wanted to fit uprated engine mounts but rather than pay silly money for them I decided to polytek some standard mounts.

Pic of a spare set of mounts masked off ready to pour the mix in.You can see in the pic the polytek I've used it's basically a track density grade so pretty stiff.

This pic is once cured and masking tape removed

Then before fitting I decided to spray them Matt black. They don't look bad at all for a diy job so very happy with them and for the cost it was well worth the effort.

I've not got any pics of them during the process of me fitting them as I didn't want to mess around whilst doing the job especially as at points the engine/gearbox is supported by my trolley jack.

Obviously at first I got a little cabin vibrations and you can hear the cars mechanical sounds more. After doing around 1k miles these have settled considerably and I'm very happy with the way the car feels with them fitted. Much crisper throttle response and surprisingly it's changed the way she sounds but in a good way.

Next up I put the little rubber splitter on to make the front a bit better. For the money I'm happy with it for now but will get a proper one at some point in the year.

Next mod I've purchased(yet to be fitted) are the superpro anti lift kit and lower arm bushes. These will be fitted once I get a set of H&R anti roll bars as it will save messing around in that area twice and paying for it to be aligned twice.

Some of you will remember me saying after her last track sessions the brake setup I was running simply didn't stand up to the hammering she gets and was holding me back. With this in mind I've purchased a Ksport big brake kit in the form of 356mm two piece discs,Braided lines, race fluid,Pagid rat-3 pads and these epic 8pot calipers :funk:

Got them fitted at AKS tuning

And a pic of them behind the wheels

First impressions are simply WOW!!! what a difference a big brake kit makes. Considering they aren't even bedded in yet and I'm probably using 30-40% of the capability until such time they are truly epic on how good they are. Just the slightest touch of the pedal once warmed up and they are better than my old setup. So once fully bedded in they will be awesome.

Whilst she was at AKS I had the gearbox oil changed again as it's been 20k since I last did it.Also had a braided clutch line fitted and swirl pot delete done. Reasons behind me doing this was because I'd noticed the bite point getting lower on the clutch pedal.Although this didn't cure the issue it made a significant improvement.

So as I'm away with work until the end of March she is getting the slave cylinder changed as we believe this is the true cause of the problem.Rather than just replacing it with another plastic LUK one I've got a Metal one from tps.

As it stands I've no pictures of it but once I do I shall upload them.

Got another mod coming very soon and she should look sweet once fitted but will update at the start of April with information on that.

So for now thank you for reading it's much appreciated ;)

Just epic. The front end is really completed with that splitter. I did not think orange would work behind the wheel on a CW LC. But it does and it looks epic! :D

I've thought about getting stiffer mounts for the motor, but as you mentioned, I am not too keen on the extra vibrations that will result in it. You say its settled down - is it now as quite as the original mounts or not so much ?

Can you show us a full side shot of the car - want to see how those orange calipers stand out from the rest of the car. :D

Thanks buddy :)

She's getting near to how I want it but still a good amount to be done haha. You do get vibrations still but nothing like when I first fitted them. For example on pull off in first gear,if you get the revs spot on I get next to no vibration.

All in all though I can live with it all day long.Suppose it's personal preference really some wouldn't like it but I love it if I'm honest should have done it a long time ago.
