DTUK tuning box

I guess... Stock figures were dead on, though.

We took a DSG golf GTD and that was dynod on 5th but it took the operator around an hour to get it set up.

I've driven our manual Skoda back to back with the box, and the difference is night and day. But I would agree with you about throttle response, it does seam to pull better with part throttle rather than full throttle

Also - does location affect the results? I see Abulafia is from Greece - different grades of fuel/heat etc - just putting it out there!

The fuel was typical Shell V-power diesel. I've only ever used Shell V-power, and only from a specific, Shell-owned/operated gas station near to my home. Climatic conditions = 22C / clear skies / indoors testing anyway.

I guess if the results were affected by climate / fuel dramatically it would have reflected on the stock figures. Anyway, again this post is not meant as an attempt to discredit the tuning box. I am just arguing that more people should start dyno-ing their cars, perhaps looking at half-throttle response Vs full throttle, etc. I dunno. I posted those figures to get the discussion going. :)

anyone else had their car on the dyno? is it a case of some cars react differently? - surely not

I tested my 184 DSG a few weeks ago and compared standard to DTUK CRDT3 and TDI Tuning box. Both boxes were the twin channel type.

Standard: 192.4bhp @ 4056rpm and 285.7lbft (387.4Nm) @ 2874rpm

DTUK: 216.6bhp @ 3677rpm and 340.4lbft (461.5Nm) @ 2127rpm. The torque consistently dropped off after peaking

TDI Tuning: 223.5bhp @ 3700rpm and 335.1lbft (454.3Nm) @ 3378rpm. This time though the torque had an initial peak of approx. 335lbft at 2100rpm, dropped to approx 325lbft (440Nm) @ 2200rpm, than grew fairly steadily back to the maximum again at 3378rpm. This initial torque behaviour was very similar to that of the DTUK results, except it recovered and continued to grow.
I can't feel this 'blip' when driving, the car just pulls in a linear fashion (when the tyres can keep up!)

All runs were in 4th gear.
As I have a DSG 'box we found that we had to conduct all runs with the accelerator peddle just on the kick down switch. Any further and the 'box would change down to 3rd. According to my OBD app that gives a throttle position of 70% open. With the peddle on the metal (so to speak) it is 85% open. I have no idea where the last 15% is!
The dyno was at Perfect Touch Performance in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. (Good bunch of chaps.)

As far as 3 channel boxes are concerned, I'm fairly sure that the cam sensor just keeps the fuelling 'standard' until a certain rpm is reached, and then switches in the map. This will prevent juddering and other nasty issues at low rpm/wide throttle openings. I have never experienced any issues with the two channel TDI Tuning boxthough.

As far as MPG is concerned, I am getting between 50 & 60mpg averaged over a full tank (calculated, not displayed) depending on the type of journeys I've been doing. This is approximately 5% better than running with no box. Lovely!
I'll try and post the graphs soon as I'm sure there are many folk who will be interested.

as everyone likes photos, this is the DSG car i mentioned earlier at 252ps and 555nm

the customer stated he cant feel the dip on the road, and it simply adds more weight to the term "dyno lottery" as he took it somewhere else and this dip wasn't there..

A DSG Golf GTD that was dyno'd in the UK.

and a DSG Skoda dyno'd in Germany on map 1 zero.

I have the TDI-Tuning box on my Cupra, and can't recommend it highly enough.

Gary

which files are you going to dyno as your files are different to what everyone else is running on their 150's which will cause even more confusion lol
, and have you reconnected the boost sensor connection?

The only reason i asked you to disconnect it was to prove something between the files i gave you.

If youre not 100% certain on what i explained to you, then feel free to give me a call

Hi All re-booked in next Saturday having the boost sensor replaced as per recommended as 2013/2014 diesel 150/184 are prone to fail and had related issues first I will be very interested to see what the car produces as I feel my car feels strong for a 150 standard going with open mind
cheers all will post results

My Mrs phoned me yesterday to say ask what it meant when the coil light is flashing whilst driving. I told her to turn down the box but she said she don't want to break something haha. I guess I'll have a look later. Bit of a shame, I was enjoying 3+2
