Hello, I've owned by mk2 cupra for a year now - just brought a mk1 pd150 as a daily but it handles so poor just wondering if anyone had any Christmas wishes I can ask the misses haha just wondering what people would recommend for handling and do I want springs or coil overs ?? Links or brands would be nice so I don't get the wrong ones and it has a stage 1 I'm looking st no more than 190 brake and noticed the clutch is slipping what do people recommend thanks hope to hear

A good springs and shocks kit will improve things and also a better way to retain comfort. Coilovers will give you the ability to adjust height and most likely improve handling more so over coilovers but with that you will loose comfort.

Did you have a budget in mind for what you wanted to spend?

Won't be changing heigh just want something for looks and less body roll but don't want stupid low where you got to worry about speed bumps at 2mph not really got a price range but as only my daily don't want to spend hundreds

Mine is on stock, and the ride is very hard, and no body roll, so yours must be very worn if the handling is feeling that poor

Me personally - I would want some stiffer, but standard length springs. Most people however would go down the route of lowered and stiffened, as that will defo improve the handling

I would want to investigate why yours isn't handling very well though, as there may be more going on than just weak springs - it should handle fine, and not feel poor compared to the MK2

An obvious place to start would be all the suspension bushes. They may be worn, and getting a full poly bush kit might well improve things a lot for you

Mine is lowered by 35mm on H&R springs from DPM, and sits about right. It doesn't scrape on anything although I'm still finding there is some body roll on the bendy bits.

I plan on fitting a rear anti-roll bar and then looking to upgrade the shocks.

Fit a rear anti roll bar, polybush everything you can, get the solid mounts for the front sub frame and some decent tyres.
