Could be tempted to trade in my 280st if the price is right... But I expect the pricing will be close to a 1 year old 335d tourer with xdrive which would be more appealing.

Just read this. Why bother, wait 12 months and get the 310! Nothing like a manufacturer killing second hand values by constantly updating. Dont agree with it personally but plenty will go for that little extra.

This one is meant to have 'over 300 PS'

This one is meant to have 'over 300 PS', so the 310 PS/ 307 BHP map from the Golf Clubsport S then? It is slightly different. From reading on other forums apparently with a JB1 there's slightly different firmware for the Golf Clubsport S. I'm unaware of any component differences, although there could well be?

Depends how much you're willing to pay for what's likely to be 10 bhp and a few more toys inside the thing.

As with the other thread, none of this information is new and has been known for a while now.

What we want to see now are the actual details of the car i.e. technical specs, pricing etc.

Someone posted 39000 euros for the 4wd ST on the other thread....

Pub maths....At today's rate that's about £34,500. After broker discount you could probably get one for just under £30k I would expect which is £4k more than I paid for my ST last year.

The new Cupra ST 300 comes with 4WD and DSG as standard plus all the other gizmos. So 4k £ more is not that big of a difference for the things you get.

I wouldn't read too much into any figures people are quoting, as it's just them having a guess, so there's not really much point in it. The price will be the price, which we'll find out when Seat decide to announce all the details regarding the Cupra 300, which I'm hoping is soon :p

The plus side to this is if you aren't bothered about having a 290 (or even a 280), the prices of them are going to drop if you're buying, leasing or whatever. As most will be aiming for the 300.

I don't like what SEAT are doing with all these badge numbers. The 280 and 290 are identical. The 300 will be identical. It's just VAG retaining hierarchy as nobody wants to know the Golf R's little brother making the same power output. Even though it does.

And to make the St worthwhile with 4wd it needs to be at least 325bhp or else in real terms on the road won't be any quicker than 290 st

Golf R's are slower off the mark and to top speed than the 280/290s the only time there quicker is when there DSG and it's wet.. power to weight ratio is down because of the awd

And try putting vpower nitro plus in your cupras most 290's come out @ just over 300bhp and 280s just over 290 @ stock get it on a rolling road if you don't believe me.

I have how ever had a 370 badge custom made by DPC for my 290

Awd drive isn't all what's its cracked up to be espesh when the cupra has been built to be one of the best fwd handling track cars to date.

Just look at the S3 for example yeah it's quick but **** its a **** handling car.

Why pay more to Lease???

Eh. Cost of 2yr 10k miles lease is £5867 for me. What's the depreciation over 2yrs on a cupra. Let alone the cost to buy whether it's on tick or tying up £30k.

Finance would be say 10k down £400 a month for 2yrs then either give car back or pay balloon of £10know for a car now worth 20k

How is this cheaper.
