Can anyone recommend a place or anyone that can wrap my cupra's roof and also the front lip on the grill gloss black in the south east?

FX UK in Bromley, but these guys look very expensive. Interesting to see what they quote you if you ask them though.

Identity Wrap are based in Tonbridge, I think these might be more realistically priced.

Cheers for the reply mate. I got an email back from them yesterday, they wanted £229+vat just for the roof alone, far too expensive, like double most others. I'm on a cupra group on facebook and lots of people are having this done by a company in stockport for £110 all in and it does look good. Bit of a drive though i'd do the extra in petrol and mileage ha.

Haha, Stockport?! It's not worth the travel is it?!

That place in Bromley wanted almost £300 just to remove a roof wrap. Crazy.

haha yeah no way i'd go that far, may as well pay the higher amount, just hate it when you know it can be done cheaper. £300 to remove a wrap, I dunno how they make any money, must be people with more money than sense, a lot of these places seem to only reply when I say I want my "lambo" in a full wrap!

I've got that impression too from a lot of these wrap places. They don't seem very interested unless they know what they're going to be working on, and even then they seem more keen if it's a posh car or a complete wrap job. Basically the more money the more they're interested. I contacted Dub Customs to remove the roof wrap and they quoted £120 which was great, but as I can only get to them on a weekend, they didn't get back to me with their next available weekend slot.

Horses for courses I guess, but they seemed the more amenable. The place in Tonbridge seemed ok too.

I totally agree, I asked one company and now they are saying is this all I want done and not a full wrap, well yeah that's what I asked for! Didn't realise getting something like this was such a chore. is the roof wrap hard to remove yourself? Doesn't it not just pull off after being heated up? If not that could be a bit long winded as my cars only a 2 year lease.

It's on my girlfriends car. It's not a SEAT unfortunately, but has a black roof with a white stripy wrap on it. Although it was done at the factory, it's not a very good finish, it's peeling away from the car and it has a few ripples in it by the door and window. We don't want to take it back to where she bought it as it's miles away so we were going to try ourselves with a heat gun, but in this weather it'll take a lot of time and we don't want to get to close with the gun and risk damaging the paint underneath.

I know one of the guys (Sean) that owns Creative FX, I can assure you they aren't only interested in wrapping lambo's (he's wrapped quite a few Lambretta's and Vespa's.....)

The quote for removing the wrap on the roof isn't bad really when you think of the work (and more importantly time) that needs to do it properly. The roof wrap has to come off carefully using a heat gun a section at a time (that might take 2-3 hours, maybe more?) the whole roof then needs to be cleaned of adhesive and then buffed and polished. I wouldn't want to do it!

Yeah the sticky adhesive leftovers I imagine will be stubborn to remove, it's just easier to get someone else to do it, hence why we were asking around getting prices. It's always better to leave it to the pro's but although it's like a specialised sector, with many other companies popping up with this type of service, a lot of them are quote expensive.

3hrs to remove a roof wrap? I agree you have to take your time with a heat gun but it won't take 3hrs. I was asking the guy at Stockport who wrapped mine about how I remove it when I hand the car back and he said he would do it for £20 and he has all the correct products required to remove left over adhesive.

Any luck finding somewhere local more, Dave?

good luck with that then Dave!
Personally, I've seen the lacquer lifted very easily on wraps that have been on for only 3 months...

Out of any company that decided to respond, RTS creative in Maidstone have said they would do the roof and lip for £200, just waiting for an email back to see if this is VAT inclusive, and how much they charge to remove it.

I still think the fx creative company are too expensive, if you are good at the job surely a roof doesn't take long hours, its square and flat! like was previously mentioned, so many places popping up now it's gonna get competitive.

Those prices are really good Dan, I can see them making quite a bit of money from these smaller jobs. I's crazy how hard it is to even get other places interested in doing it, even when ya call they never really seem to care unless ya want an expensive job doing.

Gonna call more places until I find someone I'm happy with, just know it's gonna end up costing another 150 odd to get it taken off and for me it's not worth it, coulda spent the money on a DSG box haha

If type "remove vinyl wrap" into YouTube you can see its not a 3hr job. Once heat is applied to the vinyl and the adhesive softens it peels off. I'm going to get my guy to do it because he's experienced at doing it and knows how much to heat it, what angles to pull it and has the correct chemicals to remove the residue left.

I was fortunate to have wrap that car in Stockport local to me. They seem to be pretty much unbeatable on price but also do an amazing job.
