Fitted Goodridge Braid Brake hoses to the front and found they are not a direct fit (unless you have a file or Dremel handy to open up the brackets) why do these never fit, HEL are just the same also.

Also removed and refitted the sump for the second time to modify the splash guard to get my TSR Baffled sump insert to fit correctly (be aware that they tell me 1 in 20 of these inserts need modifications when fitting to the 1.8T engine!). Great piece of engineering but would be nice if fitted correctly.

New air, pollen and fuel filters, ordered a socket for the oil filter cover so a job for the morning. Also found a wet passenger footwell so will probably end up getting some butyl tape to seal it.

Technically not today but last night took her (yes she's a she) for a drive and just couldn't get the power down, was getting wheel spin in the first 4 gears, bit too cold for my track tyres  roll on warmer weather...

changed the camshaft sensor... was having problems starting, lights on the dash and a drop in power/response

vagcom came up with this - 16727 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)
P0343 - 35-00 - Signal too High

job only took 30mins, followed this guide on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OanjgKfLk78

our engine bays seem to be a little tighter than on the golf, however it's still an easy job

seemed much better on the run home tonight, started first time (instead of 5th attempt), more responsive and no warning light... hopefully that's all my starting problems now sorted:)

She passed the 2nd mot in a row without needing any work last week! :) Just one advisory for a split in a CV boot.

I'm going to replace the whole driveshaft and both joints, as it's a load of fiddly and messy work stripping and greasing the joints back up. Cost for the whole thing £60, cost for just the 2 CV boots £30!

For all the time, mess and hassle saved, the extra £30 is worth every penny IMO.
