Hi All,

I bought a 16 plate Seat Leon FR 1.4 ECO TSI last week and I'm absolutely loving it! My only issue is when I'm talking to people via the hands free they say they cant hear me. I tested this last night and it seems to only be when I'm driving as when stationery I'm heard loud and clear. It's basically unusable if I'm driving the motorway. Just wondering if anyone else has this and if its a common issue with the MK3 or if I should take it back to the garage?

Thanks
Jamie

My BT works fine at all speeds, are you sure it's a car issue though? Have you tried pairing someone else's phone to see if it's the same?
Congrats on the new car by the way!

Yeah my mate paired his phone to the bluetooth the other night while driving along the motor way and we had the same issue. He ended up having to just speak through his phone.

I would take it back to the dealer first as you have only had it a short period

I called the dealer I bought it from back but they said they wont touch it until my seat warranty is up as if they break anything it will void my warranty.

Ive tried different phones and still getting the issue. If im stationary they can hear me fine but as soon as I start driving theres a rattling/crackling noise that the person im talking to hears and the faster i drive the worse it gets.

I took my car into a seat dealer today and they ran "diagnostic tests and drove it at 50mph and it was clear as day". Apparently their diagnostic tester found no fault so they cant change any parts as it may ruin the warranty... Personally I think they just ran diags saw everything was fine and never bothered their arse doing any other checks. As soon as i drove it out the garage and phoned someone I was having the same issue.

I dont think its an electrical fault as it works when im stationary, i think somethings loose and rattling around when my car moves... but who am i to say, im not a mechanic.

Going to have to book it back in and make sure they do the tests that I do so they can hear the issue.

Just following on from your comment on this thread

I would get the garage to check that your microphone is fixed and stable (or if there is something else loose that causes a noise) in the housing this would account for working when stationary but making a noise when driving and getting worse the faster you go.

Also have you seen this thread

There appears to be some software upgrade that you might want to ensure you have the latest version off with your dealer although I suspect (being non technical) that its something loose

Try calling someone and getting them to record the call on their phone.
Then do the same without BT.

Definite proof for the dealer and for Seat.

Yeah I plan to do this. I'm also going to go out a drive and phone the seat dealer and book the car in while I'm driving to they can hear the issue.

Yeah I think it is the microphone rattling that's causing the issue.

I will check my firmware and update it if I need to :)

Brilliant thanks! Where did you get this? Also where would I be able to get the 'removing and installing the telephone microphone' that it says at the bottom of the page?

Hello!

From time to time - I wasn't able to pinpoint conditions or such - after I star y Fr MY2016, i get "Telephone is not available" on my Media Plus. Pressing telephone buttons on wheel or on Media plus yields same message.
Ignion off/ pull the key ou Ignition on doesn't solve. However, after I leave the car with ignition off, key out more then several minutes - from 10 minutes up - problems disappear.

Any ideas?
