I have a brand new leon fr 1.4tsi. Filled up tank fully last week. Drove 75 miles since. No bars have gone down yet (from the 8 bar meter). If im doing my math correct then i would be getting close to 600 miles from the full tank!

However the car is saying i will only get 360 miles until refuel.... which is 35mpg..... is this accurate?

I think it calculates miles till empty from your average prior...I remember my average since last refuel was around 45mpg ish...so when filled the tank up, right away, it was like 400 something miles till empty on range.

From fuel station (in London) in between till York (175 miles), the range canculated increased after perhaps 15-20 mins of highway driving since refuel (~70-75mph cruise control ~ 60mpg) flicked to range again, it went up to mid 500s.

So yes it's variable... the reverse was true as well, I went London to York to Leeds to London to Stansted airport and back to London, then fuel light came on around 520-530 miles mark...when I refuel then, it showed some crazy range...in 500s. Of course that tank only lasted 400 something, as did predominantly non motorway driving :). Range computer kept droping my range as average mpg plummeted after those long highway runs...

Just drove from Nottingham to Canterbury, around 195 miles and got 54mpg. Mainly motorway speeds apart from an enthusiastic pursuit of a BMW 6 series executing the 'drive it like you stole it' policy

Today's drive back home and overall since refuelling, nice to see numbers that reflect a diesel and range to match rather than the 40 mph my heavy foot city driving achieves

You have a 1.4 ACT 150 yes? wondering what instataneous mpg readings do you get when at cruise 70ish mph on a more or less flat highway? 53-57 mpg?

Baby brother the 1.0 EcoTSI gets about 45-47 mpg readout @ 70mph :(...

No i have the 2.0 184 which is why I have heavy foot problems but yeah around the 50 mark, maybe touching 60 if it's dead flat barely any power to hold the speed
