How is your clutch?

I had a VW Golf with the 90KW 1.4 TSi and after a software remap only (no change to the turbo), the clutch slipped all the time, even after replacement with a new one....

then you must have some different problem or golf has diffrent clutch. I now some guys that have remaped this engines and everything is OK. The local tuner company profitunin.sk remap Stock 1.4 TSI 92kw leon 5f to 165PS and 270-285 NM and they make lot of this cars and no problem. And i have 306 NM and no problems.

For example 1.8 tsi has 228mm clutch same as 1.4 TSI 110KW and 90/92kw has 220mm clutch

The 1.8 tsi no doubt has the same clutch as the 110KW 1.4 because it has the same torque (in the Leon anyway - 250NM).

I'd be surprised if the Golf had a different clutch to the Leon with the same engine. Maybe the flywheel had a bad surface for some reason.

Yes i just want tell you that 228mm clutch can hold up to 370NM (chip 1.8 TSI) so 220mm in 90/92kw 1.4 tsi cant have problem with 300 and no way with normal chip wich is arround 260NM.

How many NM and PS you have after chip?

I nearly had my golf 1.4 tsi chipped but was strongly advised not too.if the leon uses same clutch, gearbox as the golf which it prob does then the gearboxes are only limited to 250nm torque which is currently what they are running so anything more then you are risking it.these engines are cracking engines and are capable of a lot more but its the gearbox that's the problem.
don't know what the leon 1.4tsi is like to drive but if its anything like my golf gt 1.4 then in my opinion the gearboxes are so weak and clunky hence why I am getting rid and having the tdi 184 which have different gearbox altogether.

my car is remap for 30.000km and everything is ok. Stock 220mm clutch and stock mq200 gearbox. My gearbox (same as 1.2 tsi 81kw) mq200 is designed according to seat for 200NM. I have 306NM and no problems.

110kw 1.4 tsi leon (and i thing also golf) has the same gearbox mq250 and clutch (228mm) as 1.8 tsi so there is absolutely no need to be worried for that. Every stock 1.8 tsi has on dyno more than 250NM, most of them have 280NM. This gearbox and clutch are also in ibiza cupra 1.8tsi and this car has stock 320NM so its bulshit that mq200 is up to 200nm and mq250 is up to 250 because even seat put it on car with 320NM and many tunings company remap cars with mq250 to 380-400NM and no problem.

Only problem is if you have DSG7 but even with this transmision peoples have more then 300NM and works fine.

If my clutch fail then i buy stronger and if my gearbox fail i buy mq250.

So thanks for your worrys, but i can handle it :)
