Jesus, there's some right boring sods here today isn't there?

If you don't see the appeal of having more power in a car, I suggest you get on the bus.

Haha I know right. It's all about the thrill of the drive and extracting more from what lies beneath.

I see the appeal of more power, more power is good.

As standard though I think the power level is perfectly judged for the brakes, chassis etc.. I'd be looking at upgrading other things as well as the BHP.

No, the Cupras won't take full throttle in 1st, but they do in 2nd, they have a fancy 'diff' that the 1.8 doesn't have that helps hugely. I personally feel awd would ruin the car.

150-250kg more with a AWD system. The golf R on track vs cupra in fair dry conditions gets embarrassed.

Yes indeed upgrading brakes is wise I've got 20% left on my pads after a rather early service at 10k miles at 10 months

Tuning isn't my thing these days, what does the Stage 2 consist of? It's good power.

Completely agree re the weight penalty vs a Golf R. My mate has a 7R that's standard, it gets off the line like a ******* but it does feel substantially less punchy on the road moving.

I'm in the process of stage 2ing on a manual 290 sc

Will say for the money I could understand people staying at stage one with the performance it gives my dyno is below

I'm having this work carried out

Sachs performance or race clutch no decided as the race will bed and drive like an organic clutch so not just, on, off price £570 + £70 for uprated bearings £600 for race clutch

Uprated Revo intercooler £600

Uprated Revo engine/torque mounts £90

Turbo sports-cat milltek downpipe and full exhaust system price and fitting £1600.

Top figures between 410-420bhp at the fly wheel

I would add a few more things to that list, GFV DV+ , Turbo muffler delete, bigger intake pipe.

Next on mine will be Intercooler, new plugs, upgraded fuelpump and bigger turbo.
