Hi All,

I haven't been on here in a while, but need some help with getting my car sorted... OCD is making me tidy it up, I have 2 queries and hoping someone can help:

1. I have never got resolution from the dealers with an issue on the rear of the car regarding the centre exit exhaust, I have kept my FL LCR since new and the rear exhaust has never been aligned correctly since purchase. I need to get them centered and seating properly, it is my OCD and it is annoying me quite a lot. Can someone recommend some fixes, or local exhaust specialists who can adjust the tailpipes or even the back-box (South East/London)?

2. Does anyone have the part number for the front fog lamps in the bumper, I have one that is cracked (passenger front side) and I am hoping it is just a lens replacement or does the whole unit have to be replaced. It had been noted on my last service by the dealer that there is a hairline crack; never the less it needs changing. I would like to keep the car OEM, so the factory part number would be useful please to order up and change over.

Cheers all and hope to have the car sorted before any local meets... :D

Hi, with regards to the exhaust, check it is not damaged further up, one of the guys on here ( Crafoo) had tailpipes that were off in his R, and discovered it was damage further up that had caused the issue. Could be a good excuse to get a cat back on ;)
I'm also sure someone had an issue where the tailpipes were too close to the diffuser and melted it.
Can't help with the flights, but you could try Dave at Sere motors on here, he's normally pretty good with stuff like that.
Good luck

@Kazand - Thanks mate for the response, funnily enough when the car was up on the ramp, we had a quick look underneath and noticed that the tailpipes are hitting the diffuser and now rubbing on it. I mentioned to the mechanic, when driving and go above 2.5K there is vibration when lift off, a buzzing noise and it is driving me crazy... It is starting to annoy and I don't really want to be buying a new diffuser if the exhaust is slowly melting it (worried about driving it).

We noticed in the centre section of the exhaust system there is a slight exhaust leak on one of the clamps, will have to get that checked/replaced too! I have been servicing the car with SEAT dealers since new and none have been able to fix it... :(

I want to keep the car OEM as possible, it is totally original - just want the exhaust fixed, not sure how to contact (Crafoo) for further troubleshooting!

@Hawkers - Totally forgot about Dave from Sere motors, I ordered my mudflaps from him when I brought the car from new all those years ago and thank you for the part number!

No problem mate. Just use the forum search for Crafoo and he'llpop up. I know he's not on here often now though, he sold the R a while back.
With regard to the vibration, might be worth checking the sound actuator, it can cause problems. I disconnected it, bl##dy thing!
Still miss the R tbh

Cheers Kazand, the car is still pretty good/solid - just want to update it a bit this year, get the sat-nav maps updated, sort the foglamp/exhaust out and that's about it really, keeping it completely stock. I can hear a bit of a drivers side pillar rattle too which is annoying me, the gremlins are coming out now - i'll leave that task for a few weeks time.

It's still a quick car, like the old school boosty feeling with the turbo chiming in giving that surge of torque and punch... Like the fact it is lighter than the new era of modern hot hatches, you should have tried to keep yours they are still fun cars and let's see if there is a MK3 LCR...

Hi All,

As an update, I ordered some other OEM parts (not mentioned on this thread earlier) from Dave at SERE motors and got them yesterday; top man as always, thank you so much!

I needed to fix a front fog lamp that was cracked:

Finished :D:

Next up is to fix the front drivers headlamp, I have the replacement bracket and suspect that is what is at fault... It basically moves at the bottom when pressing or washing the car, where it should be fixed obviously :) - if anyone knows how to remove the bumper and get access to the headlamp would be useful :help:

I just want to get the car back to it's best and will try to take a look at that tomorrow!
