So it's nearly time to say goodbye to the Leon FR ST after 3 years on a PCP.

Likes:
Styling for an estate is still one of the best on the market.
Seat Sound System. Not bad comparing the price.
Adaptive cruise control. Good when you're doing a few motorway miles.
Engine. 184 has plenty pull not bad
Not a bad drive for an estate
Boot space is good
Servicing is reasonable

Dislikes
Engine regens. Noisy and often weekly or warning message to appear to clear it.
A few rattles. Dash mainly. Dealership can't fault find.
Cheap plastics in some places
Wind noise, think that's to do with the door mirrors.
Sat Nav/Screen - Slow and has frozen a few times.
Paint - Not as solid as other VAG cars

So on the whole it's been reliable, cheapish to run, but would I get one again?

No, I'm afraid.

Depression is the issue. Absolutely shocking.

Do you mean depreciation ? Or are you suffering from depression ?

I cant think of many cars other than Porsche, ferrari and lamborghini that do not depreciate significantly from new. BMW is one of the worst and it's supposed to be a luxury brand!

True. Just one of those things on most cars these days but being in negative equity is not ideal. Time to look at some leasing deals. Something a little bit smaller, as to be honest I haven't utilised the space as much as I thought I would. Time for a change, definitely petrol not diesel.

You would of thought so, but nearly 2k down basically only worth 9.5k. instead of the projected figure of 11.2k

Well anything else that isn't covered by the fair wear and tear policy. Just thought I'd have some equity left for a deposit towards a new car. Hey ho that's the way the cookie crumbles!

This is exactly the reason I'm now about to lease the cupra, I give my scirocco back on Friday with nothing after a £5k deposit down....

Yeah it sort of defeats the purpose of taking out a PCP. Got myself a nice deal on a A4 without a large upfront deposit and then tax, servicing included for not much more I was paying for the Leon. Nothing really wrong with the Leon, it served me well but quality wise the A4 is heads above it.

Yes I don't mean to bash the Leon but recently found a lease deal on a s4 avant for less than I'm paying on the cupra st. If the option to buy is less than market value at the end of my lease then I'll prob buy my lease cupra st but if not I'll prob jump into an s4. Buy out prices seem to be hit and miss but worth haggling rather than accepting first price given.

Yep the depreciation on these is a killer....and I bought mine for 25k 3 years ago. :( :( :(

Rattles=none
Wind noise= only that created by me :(
Sat Nav freeze= not happened on mine
Paint thin and prone to chips= yes mine is the same and my son has a 16 plate white SC with equally soft paint.
Regens= not had an issue as I do enough runs for passive regen to work fine

My son took out a Lease not a PCP and this is the better option as there is no residual and he just walks away at the end of 4 years.

I would never buy another SEAT again but I would consider the personal lease if I wanted a new car every 3 or 4 years.

My working car is a metallic silver 320ED with 48k miles and not a single stone chip
