Reversing sensor control unit location

Hi,
This my first time on the forum so please treat me gently.

Whilst all the reversing sensors click as they should do on my 2006 Altea, there is no beeping sound to be heard anywhere when I engage reverse gear. Having looked through the forum I assume that there is a control unit or similar located somewhere that may need replacing?
Could anyone​ let me know where this is located before I start ripping my car apart in a vain attempt to find it?
