After spending today trying to find a new/recon box I'm wondering can I put a golf gt tdi or ibiza fr gearbox in instead? Didn't realise the guc gearboxes were so rear. But suppose the cupra tdi is a rear machine

Will it be able to cope with a slight gain in power. It's had stage 1 so roughly 190bhp? I'm not bothered in the short shift really

any PD 160/130 box should fit.

160s have shorter ratios for better 0-60. 130s are longer- read less rpm for same speed ie 70mph = 2100rpm in my 160 vs 70mph = 1900 in my mates vrs (pd130)

This bora gearbox has been a nightmare to put into the cupra. The gear shaft needed to be removed but now I've found the mounts are totally different. I'm thinking would ibiza fr tdi mounts be needed

After some cutting of the original gearbox bracket I've managed to get the box into the cupra. After bolting everything together was exited to get her back on the road only to find a very notchy steering in only one position. So stripped down the pump to get to the plugs to test the voltage. Do I need a certain voltage for it to work Correctly?
