I've been wondering the same - also a cr170.

I looked at celtic tuning, they have plenty locations about the country. Their figures seemed high tho - states stage 1 170bhp to 227bhp. Looking at graphs - they quote BHP at wheels for the original power, and then BHP at the fly for remapped, giving a false impression. Think they wanted 375/395 tho. Lot less than a REVO map, that's likely a tried and tested standard bought in map. They also offer EGR deletes. I might take the plunge with them despite the funny figures.

I had mine done from Dynamic Tuning after hearing good stuff about them, they are based in Manchester but do mobile remapping so can travel to you if you are within 50 miles if i remember correctly. They also give a 14 day guarantee if you are not happy. I've had mine done for 6 months now no problems and a massive difference only paid £220 to.

I have a pd170. It has had the dpf gutted. I was unsure at first as it didn't smoke a lot and passed the smoke test at the mot with no issues. My first remap was a superchips bluefin. They do not map the dpf out or egr as it's against their policy. The map was good but the car still used to regenerate sometimes, and sometimes coasting up to a roundabout or side road in 2nd gear it would cut out. I never got it rolling road but it preformed well. The car didn't smoke at all with the bluefin.

I then opted for a shark performance map who are based in Mansfield. This map is much more aggresive then the bluefin although being a stage 1 it does smoke a bit when putting the pedal to the floor. I had to pay extra as well for them to map out the dpf which was a bit of a surprise but they did check it for me for free to find out if it had been gutted. I'm impressed with the map and i am opting for a stage 2 sooner in the year.

For them to preform a stage 2 they say you need to have a cat back exhaust + dpf downpipe/gutted and a decent panel filter. But this later changed to a performance air intake (car would breath better, so they say) however I know they were just trying to sell me one as they're there to make money.

The service was pleasant though the wait was a bit of a bore to be honest. I'd use them again as they do get good reviews, just do your research and be prepared to challenge anything that someone will say you need when you actually don't.

I went with Performance Torque in Wolverhampton. Will is a very knowledgeable guy and we've had both Supercopa's done. The map is custom to your car, so it's not a generic "chip" and you get a before and after printout. £350 isn't bad for a custom map. Results were roughly 170bhp to 220bhp and 260lb/ft to 320lb/ft (all at the flywheel).

Avoid revo at any cost. Find somebody that can do a custom remap. At 1.6 boost revo claimed 217hp and 450nm on their dyno ..which is impossible. Its all about the fake numbers they sell.
