1.8TSI Cupra Black Exhaust Crack/Backfire

Hi,

I initially posted this in the Ibiza mk5 forum for obvious reasons however haven't had any response, probably due to the fact there's only a handful of 1.8TSI Cupra owners.

So I was wondering if any of you 1.8TSI Leon mk3 owners have experienced this.

Basically I booted it in first (traction on) and on the up-shift to second I got a massive crack/backfire, luckily got it recorded as it's never done this before. Car was on about 5k miles at this point and is completely standard (minus cosmetic modifications).

Seems pretty normal to me... the 2.0tsi pop and crackle like anything.
I was quite exited the first time I heard my exhaust pops haha

My totally standard Cupra 280 does it occasionally in exactly that situation

I know they do! I've just never seen nor heard of a 1.8TSI Cupra doing it as standard, but yeah I was excited too (after I realised what it was, at first I thought I'd mis-shifted or something )
