Right boys and girls just about to sign on the dotted line for a Cupra 300 5rd DSG on a two year lease, what colour should I go for, it wont be getting washed that much so I was thinking grey or silver, had a Audi S3 for the last two years in white and its not to bad when its dirty, so my go for white.... Mystery blue looks nice saw one the other day...

I have been driving a White TT for the last 18 months. It looks stunning when clean, but it doesnt stay that way for very long lol. I've gone for Monsoon Grey, hoping it doesnt need to cleaned as often....

What sort of lead times are they quoting you? I am considering canceling my manual and opting for the DSG...

What colour should you pick for your Cupra? Worth considering the following;

  • as it won’t be cleaned that regularly, a light metallic colour that doesn’t show the dirt too much might be your best option.
  • what is your cleaning regime when you do clean it? If you leave it to the local hand car wash team, or you use just a single bucket and spong, go for a light colour that doesn’t show paintwork swirls.
  • IMO dark metallic colours look great when clean, but require more effort to keep looking good, and will show scratches and swirls if a good washing technique isn’t used (snow foam/pre-rinse, two bucket method wash with lambs wool mitt, dry with dedicated microfibre car drying towels and/or warm air dryer).
  • what colours are easiest to match if you’re unfortunate enough to need any bodywork repairs? Metallic silver used to be a really difficult colour to get a good colour match on and repainted sections on a silver car were easy to spot. But paint matching technology has moved on, and this may no longer be an issue.

As for the actual colour; IMO, only you can really decide. What is one person’s favourite colour will be another person’s least favourite.

Worth having a look at pictures of nearly new Leon Cupras in the for sale section of the Seat website or on the Autotrader website to see what the available colour options look like ‘in the flesh’.

My 280 doesn't get cleaned that often and I've got monsoon grey, it usually looks OK and hides the dirt well, the wheels look the worst after a few weeks. I'm hoping mystery blue hides the dirt as well as I've ordered a 300 in that colour, I really like the blue and will at least feel more like I've had a new car than if I had another grey one.

Hi around 22weeks.. I think a manual is the same price as a DSG now.

Monsoon Grey looks best - clean or dirty. I've had a door replaced but you wouldn't know it - perfect paint match. Black hides the styling lines, silver looks insipid, white says 'BMW' and candy colours say you prefer trifle to Xmas pud. :snack:

Anyone got pics of urban silver? On the seat configurator urban silver looks like a flat pastel shade of silver to me but this could be due to my laptop screen.

Hi Kiddo

Not a picture but i saw one last week and looks great. Its slightly darker than the previous silver (almost a very light metallic grey). I think there was one on the SEAT used car site when i looked last week too.

As it's not my car, I'd say go for Eclipse Orange, it looks stunning.

Don't go black, they're worse than white to keep clean. I've got a black car it it's a f**king nightmare, I'll never have another black one again, I'd rather a white car.

Silver looks great but is a bit boring.

Go blue, grey or be different and go for Eclipse Orange.

I've got the Monsoon Grey and is stunning...when clean but would definitely recommend this colour. Now ordered the Mystic Blue, which arrives in March, so am hoping it's going to be just as good but as others have said, it's a personal choice.

Hi Kiddo I have a urban silver 300 sc dsg I picked the silver as the black mirror caps looks great and the cupra badge changed to black it don't half set the colour off this is my personal opinion on this the black mirror caps get lost on the blue or black looks good on the the red
what colour you have its going to be a hoot

I do like the silver. Think I'll have to go and find one in the flesh as laptop and monitors show different shades of silver. Current colour options are desire red, myst blue, black and silver. If I was 10 years younger I'd be all over orange lol from pictures I've seen I think the St cupra looks good in white so may have to see one in the flesh.
