Hello,

New to the forum (Be gentle :) )

Currently driving a Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0 TDI 184, which I usually get around 43-50mpg driving approx 11 miles to work and 11 miles back during the week (Mon-Fri). I also use the car at weekends approx. 125-200 miles a week.

I'm due a company car upgrade in May, so am just shopping around for a Cupra 300 ST DSG 4 Drive, however, had a question about the 'real' MPG's.

I know that I'm going to be paying more in BIK tax due to the jump in P11D and going from 25% up to 31% Co2 band, however, due to an increased contribution from the company, I may actually end up paying less in monthly rentals (It's going to be a business lease).

Anyone else driving one want to share what they're getting? Driving is usually quite clear, not too stop-start unless there's an accident. Some urban but mostly 60-70mph. What sort of MPG's are others getting on average?

Got to test drive this weekend, so looking forward to it. I'm still on the fence whether I go for this, or be sensible and go for something a little more toned back... We'll see.

Any advice/help is much appreciated. :)

Thanks,

I have a 290 ST so not 4drive but for reference on a 50 mile commute of 90% motorway and 10% Inner city I get low 30's.

Certainly not as bad as one might expect.

Ps. Life is too short to be sensible Cracking cars, you will fall for it I'm sure.

I would say it is minimum 8l for motorway driving and average is 28mpg or 10l/100km. Mostly city driving, traffic jams and motorways etc. With old octavia 135kw tdi 4x4 it was about 43mgp or better. Same route.
It is has been this last 22000km with Cupra st 4drive. But i would never go back to TDI.

And this is same even during the winter....

I have a 280 DSG

11 miles isnt long enough to pull decent mpg , your looking high 20s especially with the extra weight your carrying .

80 mile trip up to Manchester at the weekend an i pulled over 37mpg , hit a good speed in a couple sections too .
For my 300 mile weekly commute , im at low 30s without much thought on driving style.

My long term avg in my 280 St is low 30's according to trip comp. Based on this I'd be happy hitting 30 when I get behind the wheel of a 4drive given extra weight and drive train.

I do a similar commute in my ST 290 DSG. Today i got 35 with no traffic on way in then 24.5 on way back, in traffic and making up time on faster roads. Both according to trip computer, so shave a couple off for the sake of reality. Brim to brim is consistently between 30 and 32. That is probably 60/40 sensible/using acceleration. I only use V Power and don't do enough mileage for consumption to be too worrying.

Sounds very similar to my position. I used to have a golf gtd where i would get 48mpg average. My commute to work being 10 miles. Currently have cupra 300 dsg But not the 4 drive. So far im averaging 30mpg. So I would think you'll be getting anything between 25 and 30. Most likely nearer 30 than 25
