Climate Control Query

I have a 2015 1.4TSI 150PS FR, I've noticed that on the climate control whenever I have the temperature set to 16C, it blows out warm air on the 2 driver vents while on the passenger sides at 16C it blows out cold air, now this happens even though both sides are synced at 16C, the drivers side vents only blow out cold air in "LO", as soon as I increase it to 16C it blows warm air out again while the passenger side vents continue to blow out cold air as it should do, surely not normal?

Had a search on the forum and I seen that other people have had heater matrix issues and have had no hot air but I do, so would it be the same issue? Is it just simply a sensor failure or something?

Btw, this it the first car I have bought which has a manufacturer's warranty, how do I go about asking them to take a look at it? Can I just rock up like I would with an independent workshop and ask them to take a look at it on the spot or do I have to call and make an appointment days in advance?

Dont know the answer as to why you are having the problem. Call the garage you bought it from and tell them there is an issue and book it in for them to look at it. Remind them its under warranty and you dont expect to have to pay for anything.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll give them a call and see what they can do.

Took it to the dealer and they said nothing wrong, however the fault still persists, the temperature at 16 still blows old warm air so the car is either too warm at 16c or too cold when I turn it to "lo", nothing I can do but live with it I guess.

While there I asked them to look at the cracked rear taillight that seems like the same problem as others have had and they refused to replace it under warranty.

I had them to look at the handbrake too as it felt like the cables were rubbing when the handbrake was being pulled so they replaced the cables along with a new handbrake lever.

What dealer did you go to? - I'd try a different one, with the tail light at least.

Well I’ve got the car booked into Agnews for 2 weeks time and on the phone with them they said they’ll be charging me £74 for diagnostics straight up to see if there’s any issues with the climate control and then I mentioned the tail light issue and they said the warranty doesn’t cover lights as it’s an electrical component!

Are they right to charge me for diagnostics at all and I even mentioned the tail light cracking issue is a common problem on some Leon’s but the fella on the phone said he didn’t know anything about it.

Just an update, took the car to Agnew Autoexchange Seat and they found no fault with the climate control, no fault codes or anything popped up they said, suppose it was to be expected seeing as it was an intermittent fault which funnily enough hasn't appeared in the last 2-3 weeks, dunno what's wrong with it but oh well.

Even though the fella on the phone said when I booked I'd need to pay a diagnostic fee, they never asked for anything today even though no fault was diagnosed. However, they've sent off a warranty claim for the cracked rear right tail light which has condensation in it, maybe that's why they didn't charge.
