Hi all,

I'm hoping somebody can help me out with the wife's Ibiza. 56 Plate, 1.9TDI Sport with 135k on the clock. Engine still strong, but it pulls hard to the left when accelerating / brake / coasting.

I'm thinking this is a common issue on the 6L's but we have had the car for 6 years and it didn't have this problem when we bought it. Last week I put a new set of tires on it, changed the outer tie rods and had the alignment setup. It's still bad! Two different garages have now done the alignment (one mainstream, one independent) so I can rule out bad equipment / somebody just doing there job because they have too.

Is worth changing the wishbones to see if that would help the poor old thing? The VAG specialist I go to says everything is nice and solid at the front end but I am not convinced as it wants to permanently ditch itself!

Hoping somebody could shed some light on a fix? I am certain this can be sorted out.

People have moaned about them pulling left for ages, lots do it to some extent.
Given the age you might as well do the lower arm, the bush(s) and balljoint on both sides.

Did the alignment place give you a printout of the current setting?

Was it a full four wheel re-alignment that you got carried out on that car, or just tracking to align the front wheels after replacing the TREs.

If you did not get full four wheel alignment carried out, maybe get that done now, but before doing that I'd be replacing the lower control arms rear voided bush on each side as ignoring that at this age when paying good money for a proper alignment makes no sense really.

Thanks for the replies, I will look at the cost of parts and hopefully the weather will improve so I can take it apart!
