Hi

I was looking at the Carista app but read that it's limited in functions and OBDeleven was then recommended. Whats your thoughts on it? Ebay has them from £45 but not the pro version.

What's the difference bettwen non Pro and Pro?

What features have you changed or enabled?

Pro gives you full access to all your control units and you dont have to pay any more to make changes.

You can use it on multiple cars and not have to pay anything extra.

There are apps available (they do the coding for you) But I never use them, much prefer to do the work myself and be able to fix it / change it

You get a full history of all the changes you have made and can take backups of your modules.

Support is not the best (from obd11) but there are lots of people here and on the OBD11 Sites that will help you if you need it.

Some of the changes I have made are:

Front and Rear lights have been coded to work in non standard ways,
Scandi DRL's added
FIS Has been carbon updated
XDS has been upgraded to Strong
Upgraded the ABS To Increased Traction (more grip in the corners)
Removed the Torque Limiter (makes a big difference)
Upgraded Break Drying
Updated the internal lights so they flash between white and Red when indicating
Added in Remaining Fuel amount to Fis
Added in Battery checking to Fis
Turned on Traffic Sign Recognition
Turned on Lane Assist
Turned on Speed warning at three different levels.
Turned on Auto Mirror Fold
Turned on Engineering Menu
Turned up Rear Light and Reversing Light brightness.
Changes Startup Screen
DRL Settings in Car Menu
Enable fan level display when on auto
Seat belt warning changed to US (5 dings only) from EU
Turn DRL Off when Handbrake applied
Updated aircon to colder tuning cooling operation (not any colder overall but gets there quicker)

i have made loads of others but simply put this is a great tool that allows you to explore the car you are working on and uses the same language as VCDS (Which is the best) so you can find code around to use easily.

Just to add to this somebody on another forum was looking for a way to keep rear doors open for a little while after locking the car, and VAG have provided the coding to do this and you can do this with OBD11

Lastly check out http://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/764/coding-adaptations (prefacelift), http://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/1887/coding-adaptions (facelift) and https://www.clubseatleon.net/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=116700&sid=0b10fd4f82dd80bc90174f197e88c683 lots of what you can do

Enjoy whatever tool you go with.
