Engine oil help please

Hi all,

So today the check oil warning came on in the car. Not at home so don't have the service book with me and looking online is very confusing

Just wondering if anyone can recommend the specs or a specific oil for a fr184 please? It's on long life servicing too (am sure that makes a difference)

Anything with VW 507 compliance will do.

Castrol Edge 5-30LL is the usual go to and is generally on offer in Tesco

Find a local TESCO
It was only £24 for the same stuff last week

This. Regardless of the service interval you need to have an oil with VW 504 00/507 00 specification on it, because you have a DPF that demands a lower ash oil. SEAT recommend Castrol.

Perfect thanks wanted to make sure the right stuff was going in

Unfortunately that's up to 50 quid in Tesco now!

Had to get it from Halfords in the end, couldnt wait for a delivery unfortunately

All seems to be good though, topped it up and a 50 mile journey to work this morning without issues. Definitely going to keep a closer eye on it now
