Hi all,
Looking for my gearbox code for an 2015 Ibiza 1.6 FR TdiCR 5 speed manual transmission.
I’m wanting to change the gear oil and unable to identify the correct oil VAG oils don't provide specs for their oils. It’s not listed on the tag sticker nor in the service book. I’ve found different recomendations for oil but most people say use the genuine oils to save hassles.
Any advice welcome.
Cheers Jon

It should definitely be on data sticker. In boot of car and service book.
To the right of engine code

This is my tag list, have a look and see if you can see any useful info.I believe that Seat no longer put the gearbox code on the list.
Cheers Jon

Na definitely not there mate. Give your local dealer a phone and quote your chassis number. They'll tell you exactly what oil it takes after a few mins. It's easiest and quickest way to be sure.

Interesting about gearbox code missing from build label, I remember discovering that on my daughter’s late 2009 Ibiza SC 1.4 I thought that was a one off!

Mine is the 5 speed box. Looking on the parts database,(https://ifinterface.com/prog/car/cp2/inprog.php) the MQ200 uses 2.0l of oil & MQ250 uses 1.9ll of the G052527A2 oil. Presumably the same basic box just different ratios/diff for petrol & diesel models. I don’t know if I trust this as being unable to find parts using the chassis number and with all the gearbox codes and types of gear oils available. Will have to call in and ask Seat thanks alot.

Hi Kyle, I never did sort out the code but I did manage to get the number for the gear oil, and that was 37€ per liter.

VW as well don't bother including the gearbox code no, well on a 2015 Polo 6MT, which is a bit silly, I've always made sure that I get the full list of car build options for all my VW Group cars that I look after, even on that the gearbox detail is minimal, the trouble can even be worse, the gearbox generic type and family is one thing, but drilling down to make sure that you know the actual gearbox code is almost impossible and needs you to be able to know the build date of the gearbox and so use that to find out the code type so that you can get any spares for it, it was never like this in the past - well not like this back in 2002!
