It doesn't
help that there are two different service schedules for the Leon - standard and long-life. Never really understood why this is necessary.
I think it's for people that will do high mileage. 20k motorway miles is not the same as 20k varied driving in terms of wear and tear.
I do however think for something like the
Cupra that has bits of kit like the LSD and adaptive dampers, Brembo brakes in some cases, it should be checked with a yearly service. I expect most
Cupra owners do get it serviced yearly but I think SEAT should make that the norm.
Thinking about it logically, I expect 3 years is correct for the LSD, Awseome GTI probably being cautious and Hollis are just wrong. We don't see many
Cupra's In Dover, lots of 'normal'
Ibiza's and Leon's around that don't have such specific equipment so there are not used to maintaining them. I had to explain to parts guy that the brake caliper had a metal plate with the word
CUPRA written on it... I give up!
