Slow progress over the weekend, awaiting more bits from powdercoating now, calipers, rear arb etc.
Finally sprayed the rear axle and fitted the polybushes and got that back on the car.

Here’s my late night spray booth, Saturday night, 11pm, in the rain so had to make it water proof....looks rough however it did the job haha

Refitting the axle was an absolute chew, took some right effort, didn’t seem to line back up again with the brackets so had to loosen one off, which means the rear end is going to need tracking anyone recommend somewhere good at tracking these up? I’m from York area but willing to travel.

Didn’t get any pics of the axle fitted again but will do soon! Got red braided hoses on order too so hopefully they’ll arrive soon!

Well, not massive progress recently. Waiting for the money to be earnt, and bits to be powdercoated again! Rear braided hoses have arrived, they go between the car and the axle, I am then making new copper lines from there into the caliper.

New wheel bearings pressed into the knuckles! Super smoooth

Fitted rear shocks, rear springs are already done red ready to go on, however rear spring adjusters are currently off with pro-sport getting the threads cleaned and repaired.

I also debadged the rear end, polished the glue and marks off etc. Looks much better debadged but may get a new R badge to go in that lower right corner. Not sure yet!

And I finally removed those awful, chavvy/drug dealer window tints! Something like a 95% tint on them, looked like a van! Will be tinting again but only a bit, 25% darkness or something around that.

Package arrived today from pro-sport! Front coilovers have been rebuilt, serviced, new adjusters and new rear adjusters! Can finally get the powdercoated springs on!
However the rear shocks are “shortened sports shocks” and they seem very short. The shock is fully extended but the spring adjusters is only halfway up, I was hoping to get it wound all the way up to keep it a decent height for handling. Will have to see how it sits when wheels are on etc. Still awaiting rear arb to come back from powdercoating too!

Also whilst the exhaust is off and the under brace/exhaust bracket, I decided to clean it all up!
Here’s the bracket all rusty, gave it a real good sand and clean, zinc primer to prevent rust and then sprayed!

Gave it a scotch and metal polish! Was at it for a good while but was tough progress! Here’s an after pic:

Then finally put a few bits together on the front knuckles. Bolted on the disc dust shields and fitted the brand new abs sensors too.

Discs and pads all round, rear wheel bearings and front top mounts and the base/handling of the car is done. Then on to the interior and engine!

Picked myself up a set of Angel eye headlights and a 3" Wellycooler the other night...both for £100. i thought bargain! Pics of intercooler to come, its all in great condition etc not on to the front end/engine yet so be a while before it gets touched but for £50 couldnt say no!
Bit nervous about the headlights, not sure if they will look chavvy or mean. Debating just putting bulbs into the outer rings to try keep it looking less chavvy? Anyway decided to set about spraying the inside of them black and cleaning them up inside and out!

All these bits shot blasted and clean ready for powdercoating tomorrow!
Metal fuel tank straps and exhaust bracket/hanger for front subframe, all going nardo grey.

All 4 calipers and rear ARB going red and the rear discs shields have already been done in black.

Also tested out the angel eyes with the new bulbs....I think it’s going to look so mean from the front end with these on.

Good week so far this! Very happy with the progress now.
First of all I decided to spray the rear “diffuser”/valance to gloss black rather than they grey colour it is standard. I did get halfords colour code spray, it’s not bang on but the rest of the car needs a good clean to be able to tell properly and the area I sprayed needs polishing too, so time will tell if it’s s good match but being lower down in the bumper I’ll get away with it anyway! Looks better than the grey!

Next, I got the bits back from the powdercoaters! Very happy indeed! Again everything was shot blasted before powdercoating.
I fitted the nardo grey fuel tank brackets (hard to see in the pics)

Next up was the rear disc shields

And now I fitted the rear arb! Looks awesome although a bit anxious as to how low it hangs whether it’ll catch

All 4 calipers also done, ready for new seals and rebuild! Just need to get round to doing them!

One carrier is missing as I snapped a seized slider in one so got a brand new one on order but it comes red so not too bad!

Rear badge is being wrapped gold (very unsure of how it’ll look but let’s see), resented lights to be tinted slightly soon also want some of the fibreglass fins for the rear bumper too!

Little bit more progress made, all 4 calipers rebuilt with new seals, brand new rear hubs and bearings fitted also.
Front brembos with new decals and cross over lines made by myself. Can't really see in the pictures but also fitted brand new HEL stainless steel bleed nipples to the Brembos, much better than the originals.

Looks great although it's a huge reminder of all the work I need to get done on my own one.
