Well guys, picked my 65 SC Cupra 280 in dynamic grey today, what can I say, love it. Definitely needs an exhaust like, need to be able to hear it properly haha, what do people recommend.

Getting bottom of bumper wrapped black on Friday. Then possibly TRC front splitter.

No doubt a stage 1 at some point too:yes:

Very nice car, you will enjoy it and there lots you can do to these.

Also as they are not going to make the 3 door anymore this is now a classic car :)

Thanks fella, yea apparently they are ceasing production of the 3dr, the previous owner traded this in for a brand new 3dr before this happens.

If you are free on the 8th July we are having a meet at donnington park https://forums.seatcupra.net/index....ly-8th-booking-details-and-discussion.443756/

Lots of the tuners do high and low torque files to look after the clutch although stage two you will need to change it.

Check what tyres you have as the ones that come from the factory don't tend to be very good

wheel hop can be made better with dog bone mounts (again lots of threads about them)

Enjoy the car they are great fun and I still have a big smile every time I take the car out.

Already checked that date, unfortunately its my weekend of nights:cry:

Will look into the dog bone mounts, cheers.

Tyres wise it has Continentals on it, not sure if they are the standard ones, the car has 15k on it, so quite possibly they are.

Whats that... You're going to be ill on the 8th July... Funny that. Haha

Great looking car buddy! Classic and you've only just bought it... You may aswell sell it and buy a MK2 Cupra R lol I've heard they're awesome cars! :clown:

Looking forward to see what you get up to with this fine machine.

I will be ill after the 8th but thats only because of the cider you (@Jimbobcook) are going to get for me :)

@GraemeR most people don't like the conti's, my favs are Michelin Pilot Sport 4S they are not cheap but give great grip and so far feedback they last. However I think the smallest is 19" so check your size.

Also check out the MK3 How to link in my signature they will give you access to the service schedule as well as many great documents that @paddy6789 got for us all,

Haha, tbh it’s right in the middle of a nice 2 week long stint of nights involving quite a bit overtime. Don’t want to diff any as these will help fund some goodies;)

Will have a look into the tyres, it’s on 19’s so they’ll fit.

Well guys it’s started, had lower part of bumper wrapped black on Friday, new pressed plates and Cupra plate holders fitted, gave it a good wash and coated with Detailer spray.

Scorpion exhaust ordered, dog bone mount insert fitted with exhaust and stage 1 getting done:thumbup:

Also going to order some Michelin Pilot sport 4s tomorrow:cheeky:

Very nice!

I'm looking for the wrapped bumper lip but I don't see many places near me that either respond or want the work lol

Looks like you've set the car in motion quite nicely, what made you go for scorpion in the end?

Looking forward to see what you get done.

Was price that swayed me for the scorpion in the end, local tuner/specialist doing me a cracking deal on it so thought why not, also quoted me a good price on a stage one and also dog mount insert:thumbup:

Yes they are defo the best for the Cupra and they are also not bad in the Rain.

I shall be trying mine out on the track at the National Meet, they are not pure track tires but I am hopeful that the grip is still going to be very good.
